Hello, I'm Satoh.
Time flies, and one month of 2025 has already passed.
The year-end and New Year's holidays are always a time when I have a lot of illustrations to draw, with Christmas, New Year's greeting cards, and the anniversary of the company's founding.
However, by February, things have calmed down and I have more time to work on my regular tasks.
Drawing seasonal illustrations is also a good way to take a break,
so I hope to continue to draw seasonal illustrations as much as possible this year in between working on art books and updates.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
I am continuing to draw setting pictures for the art book.
I have finished drawing the monsters in the second labyrinth, and I am almost halfway through drawing the monsters in the third labyrinth.
The total number of monsters is 104, but I also plan to draw the main characters and the protagonist's classes, so the total number of drawings will eventually reach 117.
The road to completion is still far from over, but the results are steadily accumulating.
The most memorable monster designs in the first half of the third labyrinth are Black Cat and Crepe Lancer.
In SxM1, there were dogs and wolves, but there were no cat-type monsters, so this time I added several new monsters.
Among them, I drew Black Cat and White Cat as straightforward cats.
I designed them to look like wizards, based on the image of cats as spirit familiars.
Although it is hard to see them in the game because they are shrunken down, even the smallest details of their costumes are scattered with designs that resemble cats.
Crepe Lancer is a monster literally based on a crepe.
The crepe itself is boldly clothed as a poncho,
and although at first glance it appears to be wearing nothing inside, it is actually dressed in the image of a pastry chef.
The shoes are made to resemble crepe wrappers, and I think the overall design has a high-class sweets atmosphere.
This time, with sincere gratitude for you, supporters,
I drew two "Valentine's Day Sweets Special 2025"-themed special illustrations for you.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
This is Gum Gum Bubble from candy monsters.
February, the month of Valentine's Day, is a good month for candy monsters.
Gum Gum Bubble is a colorful monster that looks like a multicolored gum.
Unusually for a candy monster of the cute type, I tried to give it a street fashion, naughty, mischievous look.
In the game, it is a jammer that lets players enjoy the randomness which is based on the image of the gumball machine.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
This is Candy Hammer, also from candy monsters.
This monster is a counterpart to the Candy Shooter, and its motif is candy on a stick.
The design also incorporates the image of athletics, using the candy stick as a hammer for throwing.
His buddy skill added in 2 is also a good match for Candy Shooter and I think the two monsters work well as a set.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
That's all for this letter.
I'll post vol.65 on around 2025/3/20.
Work on the art book continues, but I will be working on it patiently.
This time, I want to make it of higher quality than the first art book, so I am not only drawing carefully,
but also drawing more patterns so that you can see them with their jackets and hats removed as much as possible.
It will take some time, but I hope you will look forward to its completion.
Spring weather is approaching, but the cold weather is likely to continue.
Please take care of yourself.
