Meowing After the Break!

Meowdy folks! Thank you for bearing with me in the aftermath of the strawberry game jam-- I seriously needed that break period to get my ducks in a row. It's a huge relief to have gotten so many of my affairs squared away in that time, between navigating insurance issues, taxes, dental work, moving, and in-between all of that, building up slightly more of a backlog of content to release for the project...

... so my "break period" didn't actually feel like that much of a break I guess, with how busy I was, but it was still VERY MUCH NECESSARY. And in that time, I was able to finish a lot that I can share with you all!

I'll go into detail about each of them, but the immediate roadmap for the next couple of months is going to be:

The revisions & bug fixes are self-explanatory-- I forget if I've mentioned this in the past, but it's been difficult for me to juggle important behind-the-scenes patches and all the fun stuff (writing, art, new features, etc). Now that I have a bit of a backlog, I want to put more effort into fine-tuning the project and looking into ways I can make a less repetitive, more comfortable, and overall `really fucking hot` experience to play through.

The kitsune manor stuff is something I've alluded to for a few months at this point! I just haven't had the time to make good on those promises, since I'm ambitious in what I want to do with/to these silly paint-foxes-- but I usually only have a month or so to actually develop things, which leaves me feeling stuck and limited in what I can actually complete. Fortunately, my friend Cashmere (who wrote most of the deer's hunt a couple years ago!) has been willing to take on some writing commissions for the project, and my friend Hepta (who's been doing INCREDIBLE fanart of the project so far!!) will be one of the new artists on Perfect Home going forward! This gives me WAY more breathing room to prioritize everything else...

They're also INCREDIBLY talented, as goes to show by what they've done already:

This is Rieki! They're the arctic-fox merchant you can talk to in the kitsune manor, and one of Kano's very first creations! They essentially serve as the vulpine's exclusive, personal art dealer...

... but when the right kind of clientele starts to do business with them, they know EXACTLY what kind of services they can offer to properly bleed someone dry. Submissive players might find themselves paying for progressively more degrading acts with the fox, possibly at a premium, or otherwise accepting debts in the absence of payment, which will ultimately resulting in a fate as this vixen's personal toy--

-- y'know, assuming you're a bottom. Otherwise, you'll dominate them until they're practically paying YOU to sit in your lap, heart-eyed and eager to serve the cat they're developing an addiction towards.

As you do their little fetch quests, you'll slowly open up more interactions with them, which will have notable variations depending on your submission stat, or whether you've enslaved the manor or not! I also intend to introduce some new scenes for the manor just in general... and of course, a new bad end/interaction route with Kano.

I'll likely be focusing on this batch of stuff for April, and in May, I intend to release something I know for a FACT everyone's going to love: a proper romance route for Julian, accessed in the same way you access your dates with Felicity!

It feels a little taboo to have polished out the dating content for Julian before I finished it for that pink cat... I'll make him a priority next in-between preparations for the fourth rival's release, but for now, the muse just kind of took me in this direction instead. Essentially, over the course of several dates, you'll learn more about who our favorite ringleader actually is, and help him orchestrate one last grand performance in the process, to get all the willful behavior out of his system in one fell swoop for good.

...

Probably.

A lot of the content here is actually already written, save for editing and a couple critical scenes! I prioritized it while handling all my other miscellaneous life-stuff during March, which gives me a lot of breathing room to take care of basically anything I want going forward. Overall I'm feeling even more confident in the project than I did a few months ago thanks to the patience, so once again, thank you all for bearing with me as I develop the game!

That's it for now. It's been tough focusing on this project while handling everything more or less solo-- it's resulted in minor burnout despite still feeling very passionately about Perfect Home on the whole. Now that I've begun to actually construct the team of creators I wanted to since December, I'm feeling a REALLY nice second-wind, and I can't wait to show you all what I can do with it! Until the next update, thank you so much for supporting the project and following along! ๐Ÿงก
