"Everyone get back!"
Kara immediately shouted a warning to the surroundings with vigilance.
There were actually no workers left here.
Only Ian remained. But this young man was currently lying by a sewage pool, constantly sniffing the toxic gases emanating from inside, completely ignoring Kara's warning.
[Hydrogen Sulfide Poisoning]
Ian looked at the new negative status effect he had gained.
He was greatly confused.
"There's nothing wrong with this water. It's perfectly normal wastewater." He had thought the water in the pool would be some kind of biochemical modification liquid, but the facts proved that things obviously weren't developing according to classic plot lines.
"We need to get this person to a hospital." Kara frowned. Compared to what exactly was happening, she was more concerned about the worker's life and death.
"No, cousin, do you have some misunderstanding about hospitals?" Ian dusted off his clothes and looked at the worker crawling on the ground with flesh chunks constantly surging on his body.
He wasn't cold-blooded.
He just knew very well that hospitals had their limits too.
"We can't just ignore him, can we?" Seeing the worker only lying on the ground howling, constantly repeating the same phrase, Kara also abandoned her defensive posture and stepped forward trying to comfort him.
"Sir, I need you to stay calm, slow your breathing..." She wanted to support the constantly trembling worker, but unfortunately, her touch seemed to disrupt some delicate balance within the worker's body.
"Ahhhhh!"
The worker once again raised his head and let out a painful roar.
The next moment, his entire body's flesh was pulsating, muscles suddenly inflating like being pumped with air. His work uniform sleeves tore with a "rip," revealing skin that had been rendered completely green inside.
This skin color directly spread across worker Mike's entire body.
He even grew sharp fangs, those white eyes filled with coldness. Seeing this, Kara was shocked and quickly backed away several steps to distance herself from the mutated worker.
"This... this is impossible."
Kara murmured in shock.
Even though she prided herself on being well-traveled, she rarely witnessed such a rapid mutation process.
"Roar!!!"
Mike, or rather the creature that had once been Mike, raised his head and let out a deafening roar. Green mucus dripped from between his fangs in threads.
The mucus corroded small pits in the ground that emitted white smoke.
This guy's mutated form, over three meters tall, looked terrifyingly imposing. The knotted muscles under the fluorescent green skin were full of explosive power, as if they could release terrifying force at any moment.
"Damn! Little green giant! The DC universe has its own Hulk? I haven't even turned green yet and I'm already a knockoff!?" Ian also cried out in shock. He saw the green giant's bloodthirsty eyes full of anger, raising his claw-like palm to slap toward his cousin.
"Let me handle this!"
Ian wanted to seize the opportunity to gain experience.
Unfortunately, he wasn't fast enough.
"Damn! He's completely like a wild beast now!"
Kara had no time to pay attention to her nephew's nonsense. The mutated worker swung a claw, she dodged sideways, the green giant claw brushed past the "S" symbol on the chest of her battle suit.
It directly sparked a string of orange-red sparks.
"Hiss! So this is cousin's steel chest!" Ian was truly amazed by Kara's invulnerable physical qualities, but unfortunately his praise didn't provide positive emotional value for Kara.
"If you can't speak properly, say less!"
Kara landed an uppercut to the mutant's jaw. The latter staggered back three steps, but soon roared and charged again. From the corner of her eye, she glimpsed Ian running quickly trying to approach the battlefield.
"Stay away!"
Kara kicked a large iron barrel beside her toward Ian. The force wasn't great, just to block this child's intervention, but unfortunately Ian precisely dodged the barrel with a sidestep.
"No, the Man of Steel is very impressive, but my limited-time version of immortal body isn't bad either. Just let me get close, let him bang bang bang and punch me twice!"
Ian's eyes were full of desire for experience points.
But unfortunately, wise men in this world could never be understood by others. Seeing Ian wanting to intervene in the dangerous battle, Kara quickly kicked the approaching mutated worker away.
Immediately, as the worker flew backward, she directly rushed forward at high speed. Amid the mutated worker's pained roar, she grabbed an iron chain and bound him to the water tower.
This really couldn't be called a battle.
The green-skinned monster might have enough strength to tear through steel, but in front of a Kryptonian, it was like a kindergarten child challenging a professional boxer. After all, DC's overpowered race was just this unreasonable.
Ian watched with extreme envy.
"Traitor! Woman! You betrayed your class!" The mutated worker perhaps still had thinking ability, just abnormal. While struggling, he let out vicious roars at Kara.
"Enslavement! Oppression! This world shouldn't be like this! We should change it! Change it! For everyone! For glory!" The mutated worker's eyes were full of madness.
He was struggling frantically, the water tower was even shaking.
But his strength wasn't great enough to break free from the restraints. The mutated worker kept twisting his body, trying to break free from the iron chain's binding, but that chain was really too thick for him to move even slightly.
Who would have thought.
Although Supergirl Kara was young, she was surprisingly skilled at bondage.
"A character like this couldn't harm my father." Ian was extremely confused seeing this. How could someone that even Kara could easily handle possibly become the cause of his father's death?
"Hmm?"
Having dealt with the mutated worker, Kara dusted off the rust on her hands. "Regardless, you were right. This place does seem to have problems, very big problems."
She examined the mutated worker again.
She just felt the situation was very troublesome.
If this really was some kind of infectious disease as those fleeing workers had said, it was hard to imagine what the mastermind behind this was plotting. Thinking of this, Kara took out her phone and began sending text messages.
"Well, my deduction skills are still pretty impressive. Looks like the Joker can't be my doctor after all. That's his loss." Ian saw green blood seeping from the struggling green-skinned worker's body.
Flickering with an eerie fluorescence.
This was the first time he had the opportunity to touch the blood of an extraordinary life form in the real world. His eyes flickered, and Ian turned to look at Kara, who had her back to him and was making a phone call.
"Opportunities always belong to those who dare to explore!" Ian philosophized a bit, stepped forward, slowly crouched down, and reached out to touch the blood that had dripped to the ground.
At the same time.
The system's voice immediately sounded.
