For the last six years, since making its debut on the Las Vegas Strip at Caesars Palace, I have been hearing about Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen. It usually books 2-3 months out, so when I got an invitation to go, I was very excited to finally get a chance to dine there. To be honest, I don’t watch cooking shows, and have never seen his reality tv show about cooking, but I know he is quite popular.

First off, it’s not easy to get to if you drive, so I suggest taking an Uber or Taxi that drops you off in front of Caesars, as it literally is on the sidewalk part of the Strip. To say it was PACKED is an understatement. I wasn’t crazy about how close all the tables were to each other and how loud it was. Lots of young people, so I get it, but I usually prefer a less boisterous environment for dining.

I started with a cocktail “Smoke on the Blvd” with Elijah Craig small batch instead of the Bulleit rye. It was very delicious with a fun presentation – see video 😚 And, sadly to be honest, that was the best part of the experience, other than the company.

I ordered the Pan Seared Scallops and the Crispy Skin Salmon- they were both good, but nothing to write home about. I guess my expectations were kind of high, because of all the hype. My dining partner said that The Beef Wellington, that Ramsay is famous for, was kind of cold. So, that was disappointing to hear. Unfortunately, I think some of these famous chefs get too big, have too many restaurants and become less special and more ordinary. 😕 Luckily, there are so many amazing restaurant options in Las Vegas!
