March Package Spoiler!

Hello friends! Time has been flying and we are due for a March Spoiler. Most of you would have gotten these a week or two ago, but with conventions and fulfillment, we're just getting to the big spoiler. If you haven’t received your March package, please let me know.

ONTO THE SPOILERS!!!

Edward Scissorhands. This movie is extremely iconic due to the main character and the clashing 1950's household perfect that he is placed in. It's one of Tim Burton's most well known (and one of 2 Tim Burton films that made this year's list.

Joshua J Mills crafted a little gem with Scissorcards. It's a realtime dexterity game where you have to form a shrub using playing cards BUT you have to use playing cards instead of your fingers. You setup cards in-between each finger and that's all you get to work with. Crazy, I know. Tons of fun too.

I chatted with Josh about the film, his history in movie-making, the Board Game Designers of North Carolina and much more in the interview below:

The postcard art was completed by Embla Vigfusdottir, our artist for both North South East Quest and Ninja: Silent But Deadly.

Next up is our monthly Movie Plotz and Wild Cats card. The Movie Plotz card is ONE OF THE BEST and will make for some amazing Man-At-Arms style characters. And the Wild Cats card has players point with scissors style fingers at one or two players at once. Fun stuff all around. The big bummer is that we can't see the actual scissorpaws that Marty created on the cat.

Once again we have our monthly Newsletter. This month's  Greatest Game to Hit The Table is Peter Gousis with Blood Bowl, a game that happens to inspire a lot of what I do without having ever actually played it. Flip The Table is back with a haiku based off the episode Hello Kitty, with Geoff Engelstein and Semi Co-Op has comic about waiting for the mailman to deliver games.

Onto the $10+ bonus content.

We made a cool little Scrabble variant that plays both competitively and cooperatively with no board. I don't know if Bananagrams have points on their letters, but if they do, this would be great to slip inside that little banana case. Either way, you can challenge other players and press you luck with larger destination tiles, or you can lead your friends along to words that may be within reach. We also included our simple fix / rule change about using up to 1 blank (upside down) tile in a word. Other words can share the blank but the same blank replacement letter must work for both words.

Finally we have Hot Sauce by Kenneth Thompson. Ken always has a bag of tricks and this one was in the form of about 20 Taco Bell hot sauce packets. He had a neat domino feel tile laying abstract game in which Ben and I tightened a wee bit. In the end it's two things: 1) a full game made out of 7 cards or 2) a rule card that you can take with you to your favorite taco restaurant. Both have their perks.

And with that we move on to April. The goodies will be here in a week or so and then we'll start mailing them out. April is looking pretty awesome so far and I can't wait to share it!

Thanks everyone!
