Very First LED Desk Clock From 1974

This is the Texas Instruments model TI-71 digital alarm clock, and so far as I know it is the first example of a full sized display LED table clock that could be bought retail. The shape reminds me of a Star Trek prop. The World's First BIG LED Displays! (Dialco 7-Segment displays from 1975) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q43GbRAL9dU

Fran, I have a Westclox Big Ben Digital also from 1974, and I think it slightly predates the TI clock you have... I haven't opened it yet. I do know that it uses 4 single 7-segment displays and 2 seperate LEDs for the colon. Also has an alarm.

The "value engineering" hasn't had a crack at it yet.
