Or is it Franbling?  I'm too tired to decide.

I enjoyed hearing about books you are reading, I took notes about a couple that I shall check the local library for availability.

Sad to hear about the t-shirts, my and partner love our Fran Lab shirts, and would love to purchase more, just we are not a fan of the “you tube” design of the current shirt.

It's the old adage that you can keep some people happy all of the time, everybody happy some of the time, but not everyone happy all of the time (so don't try). :)

I started writing this comment at about the same time you said people were complaining about the kind of content, so I feel bad for saying what people are already complaining about. However, it really is the electronics videos that brought me to your channel. It seems your last real electronics project video was about 7 months ago. I do miss that content, and I think it was probably the content your core viewers want to see. I like you and your video style, so I tend to watch your videos even if it's about something I'm not terribly interested it because I feel that I can learn something, but out of 100,000 subscribers statistically how many others will also do that?

I think you need a little bit of me time to recharge the brain cells. You do a fantastic job doing all the things you do and the people who complain aren't real fans and just moaning Minnie's! A lot of people won't understand what it takes to run a business nevermind several, take sometime out for yourself as no one wants to see you burn out..

I just want to comment here and say I DID watch this video! :)

You gotta do what you gotta do. I'll keep things running as long as I can.

Hi Fran, have you thought of doing a yearly 'top up' fundraiser.? While I can't afford $20 a month towards your fabulous channel I don't mind once a year throwing an extra $20 or $30 your way to help 'keep you on air'. A sort of Pledge week but make make it a full month with guest videos and maybe some give away's as you meet specific milestones. Just an idea, and of course you know your situation a lot better than I so it just might not be feasible but thought I would share my idea just in case it helps spark some better ideas :D

A book that I feel is a must-read is Factory Man by Beth Macy (non-fiction)

Historically those kinds of videos are not viewed as enthusiastically as the short condensed ones, which is why I put that content here as patron only videos.

Upped my monthly pledge

I like Frambling too. Like UpLateGeek suggested, "Franbling" sounds like you need lots of tacky jewelry.

*Love* the book list! More, please.

One good video a week is a great pace, some of the “full time” channels I patreonise are 2-3 good videos a month, and one of them is one (great) video a month. Usually all plus something BTS for patreons each month. But I definitely agree with keeping looking for other (passive) income/income streams. It feels like the days of “single person, full time, unsponsored” YouTube channels are on the way out, with the advertising dollars, etc, going to larger “TV” like productions. Ewen

would love that pre-astronaut book. And Frambling matched that framboise T-shirt

To increase YouTube content, I think you could get more mileage out of your generally complex and time-consuming projects by showing more of the work you now do behind the scenes and not just the finished product. For me, seeing how you do things - and watching another perfectionist at work - is truly satisfying.

I vote for "Frambling". I'd listen to you Framble anytime. For the shirts, why not offer all your previous designs via Teespring (or a similar service of your choice) and put links to them in every video - like Dave Jones does? An essentially one-time effort that might pay off.

Wouldn't Franbling be incredibly gaudy jewellery with flashing vintage LEDs?
