One of the time I went, there was a strong headwind - probably in the 20mph range. We took off in what seemed like 10 feet, and went up like a helicopter.

2018-01-28 17:01:05 +0000 UTCYep, several manufacturers still make the counting dials for multiturn pots. A quick check at my local distributor shows a few models made by Vishay and one by Arcol. They aren't cheap though.
2018-01-28 15:49:12 +0000 UTCThank you for fostering the 'retro' community. As a ham radio operator, I've seen those multiturn pots before, and I'm happy to report that at least one manufacturer (Bourns) still makes them as well as the turns counting dials.
