Dev Diary, December 6th, 2024

I've been continuing working on the story before it leads to some serious pathing. One of the reasons for the pathing is, of course, getting serious with the girl(s) you want to and continuing the actual story.

So I had to make some changes to the episode roadmap to make sure that both the story and romancing paths lead into the inevitable season ending where you'll learn that everything is connected somehow. The changes are mostly that you'll have a greater choice of skipping girls you're not that interested in, and hopefully have more fun with those/the one you are.

I also had to take some days off for the Christmas shopping, which we normally do in October, but back then I was just too busy preparing the episode release.

And finally, I got the last little Daz quirk sorted out, where earlier I had to wait 20 seconds every time I made a new save. Now that's fixed, and I won't have to sit and wait every time I save, which was really distracting and took me out of the flow (to give an example, the 3,500 renders in the last episode multiplied by 20 seconds was about 20 hours of waiting in total).

Overall, it was an okay week, but there were some distractions here and there, which should hopefully be sorted now.

Have a nice weekend once again, and stay safe out there.

So... I wasn't sure whether to bother writing this, or where to put it, but I want to just say that I've decided to discontinue my subscription. After enjoying the last game a great deal, I went into U4ia with high hopes, and was immediately concerned. U4ia felt like a move forward in the wrong direction, and that has seemed more and more clear as development has gone on. Knowing how impossible and unlikely this is, I would really encourage Drifty to scrap work on the game entirely. Salvage whatever you want to take from the narrative and characters, some of whom are pretty good, and really reconsider how to take a different angle on the VN genre. Anyway, this isn't an airport, no need to announce your departure, I know, but I have enough respect for the effort involved in a project like this that I needed to provide some feedback, rather than slinking off. Cheers.

I like that in these games choices matter. I really enjoy the other LI's reaction to the MC choosing a girl. That part is also very meaningful. Thank you for the update and keep up the good work. :)

Thank you for the update Drifty. Have a great weekend.

Do you ever find yourself tempted to change the story as you're efforts progress? I'm sure new ideas and epiphanies come up all the time. Cheers!

Thank you as always for the update Drifty :) I hope things continue to chug along well without many more distractions. I hope all goes well with sorting out the story and romance paths as well. Have a great weekend and stay safe out there ❤️
