War turns people into monsters. It pits us against each other and against ourselves. It forces us to look into the darkest corner of our souls and ask the question: Am I the hunter? Or the prey? Am I a victim? Or am I the monster? -- One of these girls did not have the luxury of choosing her own answer as she was fated to become something else entirely.
Yulia and Sylvie were locked in a fierce struggle, fighting for their lives in the outskirts of a labor camp, under the dying light, exhausted, naked and covered in mud while the soldiers only watched and laughed.
Come witness a savage and raw battle for survival in the jungle that will take us back to the war torn Republic of Esperança (see Operation: Witching Hour), where the legend of the Phantom of the Amazon began.
---- Special Behind the Scenes Note:
I actually did this image twice. Originally, I had envisioned the fight taking place in broad daylight, much like the original Operation: Witching Hour. However, when I put up the teaser image in the Weekly Update post, I did not like that both Operation: Firestorm AND Prisoner of War had sunny bright green lighting schemes.
For that reason ALONE, I re-lit and re-made the scene, shifting it into a dusk/night setting that actually turned out pretty moody and intense. Yes, I obsess over things like that. Just a random fact for you. :)
