Hamilton, after too much digging I think I get why you were annoyed with how things are. I also want to say the way you react is liable to create more of what you hate, just let the dialogue flow in the open instead of giving them more twitter drama fuel. For people trying to remain objective this drama over the miami talk is literal cancer to look at because it's extremely difficult to find the actual video and extremely easy to find long twitter circlejerk threads over it. It just leads to the support on both sides being literal bot groupthink type shit. I don't even feel like I can fully support you in good faith, simply because I don't know the full story.

This conversation should be made public on multiple platforms.

Can someone explain to me why Compass filing for a patent on certain aspects of psychedelic therapy (like 'soft chairs' and 'handholding' etc.) isn't a problem? Cause it seems concerning to me that a company would attempt to claim sole ownership over such a basic aspect of psychedelic therapy. I'd just like to hear the counterargument.

Hey Hamilton, if you see this: I see you'll be at the SF Bicycle Day event again this year! Do you have any idea what happened to all the video that was shot during all the talks last year? Haven't seen any sign of it from the organizers and didn't get a response on social media. Would be great to revisit and see some of the panels I missed. I've seen some of the keynote video, like yours, but not the small rooms.

You are invoking the audience to self reflect with your podcasts. I like this. A lot. You have a great monologue in the beginning. I felt the passion. You always do this with the way you speak, your sense of humor and your attitude toward life. I try to spread your patreon to everyone I can. The way you talk could truly help change the way people think. Thanks Hamilton 🙂

Yo does anyone know where I can find a video of that interview that’s mentioned where hamilton walks out on the vice reporter? Really wanna see it lmao. Nothing strikes me as more spineless and cowardly than refusing to confront, in person, an individual that you’ve been shit-talking relentlessly lmao, shayla love or w/e sounds like a lil bitch tbh

I'm really in doubt here about Hamilton's personal bias in this whole deal. But this whole interview sounds like a "In the search for moral rights to make profit" discussion. Its not like they don't know what is the issue with corporations getting patents on natural organisms and compounds, since there are many examples that show what are the negative repercussions of making a natural product a direct competitor for a very invested business....which opens a Pandora's Box of unethical and downright criminal actions pointed towards the displacement of the "free" product from the knowledge/attention of the target auidience, or in the worst case scenario, the physical elimination of the capabilities of the potential customers of using said product. Creating a false dilemma about "we either let corporations get the right on psychedelics, or else they will be forever illegal" isn't a morally right approach to this, since there are things that can be done to force changes without signing a deal with the devil. Because the issue that most people have with this isn't the (purposefully highlighted and ridiculized by both Hamilton and John position, which again, is a very "demagogic" thing to do imo for someone that wants to base himself on truth alone) deal with "cApItAliSm, bIG PhArMa, eViL" orchestrated by the small people and firms that work on the "cause"(future business models) right now. But that there's a very well known pathway of evolution of pharma industries, that goes hand by hand with the natural development of any business: Past the initial stage of "sMoL dReAmEr gArAgE eNtErPrEnEuR wItH sOcIaL cHanGe aNd wOrLd pEaCe vIsIon", the business becomes an ultra-aggressive entity with its own profit and growth as the only reason to be. And the business doesn't even has to go pass that stage, it only needs to be acquired by anyone that already did and that has the predatory vision an experience in the field as to protect its interests. Here's where problems will begin.. Not for everyone, not everywhere, but where control will be possible, it will be applied. Where legislation can be lobbied, it will be lobbied; where negative PR against old hippie stuff can be thrown, it will be thrown, etc. And it doesn't have to go in that direction... However, since people likes profits, their vision ends up at that on the path to whatever "great plan" they had in mind for their businesses/causes (if there was any to begin with). The majority of "psychedelically woke" entrepreneurs are dreaming about just getting a juicy acquisition offer from any giant looking for fresh markets. This all deal is the logic of "Hey lets help Hitler get to power, because he's helping with business to our guys, and rebuilding Germany. Who cares about his crazy ideas or weird tendencies. Its either this, or be stuck with nothing! HaHaHa, dumb hippies/lefties/rightwingfreedomfreaks, we have to be pragmatic here to get stuff done!" Anyways, just go on and do your profit without caring about the moral rights for it. Just be careful about where those yellow (or rainbow) bricks will lead you. Ps. Just using Hitler as a ridiculous and extreme example. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions" in other words. Peace :)
