Idk if it was my ignorance or paranoia but this episode seemed a little sinister. I mean that in the sense of how psychedelics may be used in the future or maybe even now. That being said...it needs to be presented in a way easily accessible for our illiterate asses, and it was. So for that I say take a bow sir. Thanks Hamilton 💕

2023-05-17 05:07:21 +0000 UTCI've listened to this podcast at least 5 times now, and my brain continues to explode every time. Someone needs to start a podcast, discussing Hamilton's podcasts. Lol. Side note - this episode has really opened my eyes to the "realm" as I call it. There is one big 'reality', and a bunch of little 'realities' in that big reality. Through the ~realm~, you could see through that 'reality'. Of course, using the term 'reality' subjectively. If there are indeed similarities in the things that people experience, and if there are people out there willing to explore the ~realm~, perhaps there could be significant introspective gain on the rawness of the ~realm~ and all of the different humans and critters that live in it. This is quite fascinating stuff, that's for certain.

2023-05-09 04:21:35 +0000 UTCHi Hamilton, I've come accross different procedures to reach 1,4-dimethoxy-2-iodobenzene. Usually they start form the monomethoxyphenol. Y. Zhang, JACS, 2021, 143, 4524 Z.I. Yoshida, JACS, 2008, 130, 13867 (Check the SI for both) the 2021 paper refers to the 2008 for the synthesis but still show 2-3 other ways of making it. If you're still interested or curious.

2023-03-13 08:22:30 +0000 UTCThe Jungian interpretation of "many Jesus" phenomenon is that Jesus is an archetypal image of the Self. We are all Jesus (as well as all other deities) in that sense. The mental illnesses in these cases would come from an incorrect identification with the archetype; of equating the being of an expression of a pattern with being *the* pattern. So too concretizing thinking coupled with rigid/fragile boundaries of psyche. Alan Watts has a talk on this.

2023-03-10 10:09:29 +0000 UTC10/10 - would watch again! There is so much more understanding about how some of this works than I had ever conceived of, yet so much still unknown. Hamilton, if you ever want a gofer/Man Friday/Luggage Handler on one of your trips, I’m your guy!

2023-01-11 16:26:06 +0000 UTC*googles maitotoxin picture* Ah yes. That methyl group is obviously responsible for the lipophilicity. Where do you find these awesome people, Hamilton?

2022-12-30 23:02:49 +0000 UTCI've heard that DMT use does not develop a tolerance, and wondered if this is a consequence of its short duration. I assume that tolerance to psychedelics is caused by down-regulation, and that this is a function of receptor agonism (duration and degree of saturation). Given that DMT has such a short duration, it seems consistent with this explanation. However, it sounds like Dr. Gallimore's DMT infusion experiment seems to disprove this, if I understood this podcast correctly. Is the cause of the lack of DMT tolerance well understood?
