August 17 Update
Added 2025-08-17 17:00:09 +0000 UTCOkay, let's talk about TLS 1.0.0: the work I've been doing and will need to complete before I officially call the game done and do the big launch on Steam. I've seen some misunderstandings spreading about exactly what that will entail, so I wanted to give some more information.
I have a huge list of things I intend to work on, some very small and a few larger. They include but are not limited to:
1) Modifying the Chapter 2 section so that recruiting Altina is required. This is the one everyone knows, and I think it's a necessary tweak, because too many people miss her.
2) Adding investments that "rubber band" ProN returns a little: these will not appear for optimized saves, but will reduce how far behind unoptimized players fall. I will make a whole post about this later.
3) Some tweaks, like making the Yarra X Orcs scene easier to skip. Yes, I'm caving to pressure, but I'm tired of people shrieking about NTR.
4) In theory, I would like to have another DLC option available on Steam before the launch. Unfortunately, I still haven't come up with any ideas that I think work well: I would like to give players something to distinguish it from the donation option, but it needs to be something that wouldn't consume a lot of my or Annikath's time.
5) On that note, I would like to make some key art tweaks to prepare the game to make the best possible impression. Maybe finish all of the Chapter 4 scenes as well, though that would take a couple rounds.
6) Misc stuff I won't list out here. If anyone has complaints or suggestions for polish, this is the period I'll be trying to do everything.
Beyond that, there's a major question of picking a good window for the launch. This is the last time that I can control any meaningful attention from Steam, so I need to pick a good one: not during a holiday or Steam sale, obviously, but ideally I'd like to avoid a period of time with lots of other RPG releases. This is an open-ended one because the exact timing remains unclear.
I think I've completely finished updating the page itself. New art, new trailers, updated text... I don't think there's anything else I can do there.
Though on that note, everyone remember how TLS fell below Overwhelmingly Positive, then there was a huge burst of reviews from fans that got it back there? I remain grateful for that, but unfortunately...

The game probably can't recover its percentage after two negative reviews in succession. =/ Even bigger shame is that one of those players might enjoy the game but didn't make it through the prologue. While it would be nice if TLS could hit launch with the highest rating, to get more attention, I think it doesn't have a chance of maintaining that post-launch, so maybe it doesn't make that much difference.
Anyway, I hope this has added clarity. I'll wait to do the official launch until I'm ready, but I feel like that should really be in 2025. The only likely reason for delay would be if a combination of extra polishing and bad release windows means there's no good time, as I don't want to throw away this chance to reach new players. But from the perspective of patrons, you should see basically all the concluding details this year.
Comments
Tags on f95 often make no sense. One game got an 'incest' tag because someone made a very bad incest mod for it, and it took the dev and fans years to convince the mods to remove it. I agree on the main point. People skip games based on tags, and if someone (a mod?) who has a very broad definition of NTR adds the tag people will skip a game based on that. Feels stupid and unfair, but that's the reality of it.

2025-08-25 07:30:56 +0000 UTCGetting rid of the NTR is a good idea for the game in the long term imo. As someone who absolutely loves the game and has it comfortably in my top 5 RPGS of all time with some of the greats like Fallout 2, Kotor etc. Had TLS had the NTR tag on f95, where I first found the game, or had I seen a comment about NTR I would have 100% avoided the game, it wouldn't have mattered to me how it was explained I would have avoided it. Now obviously having played the game a few times it's clearly not NTR and at no point feels anything like it. But that also doesn't matter to someone interested in the game. All it takes is them seeing that one of the main girls sleeps with someone else and it's an instant avoid from them.

2025-08-25 03:53:08 +0000 UTCI know I commented about DLC ideas already, but the more I thought about the NTR concerns, the more it bothered me. It so strongly feels like missing one of the core elements of the game to be possessive in those interactions. Yarra isn't around for so much sex that Simon has, and its fine becuse she -knows- it will happen and doesn't care -- in fact, she approves! There is a conversation at one point between... I believe Carina and Nalili? Maybe its Carina and Yarra. Anyways, the conversation is about having sex behind the back of your partner, and Nalili expresses that she wouldn't fuck people behind Simon's back, but doesn't care who he bangs, then following up sort of saying that its not banging other people thats wrong, its hiding it and doing it without the understanding that succubi just inherently have with their partners / doms. Maybe a similar conversation between Yarra and Simon earlier in the game somewhere, with her trying to talk about diplomacy styles and how often Succubi resort to sex, and if that idea bothers Simon, even if he isn't around would help establish a character baseline. People will have their own complaints anyways, but that's true of Robin's relationship as well.

2025-08-24 04:29:21 +0000 UTCTo add to the NTR debate, I heavily reject NTR with disgust and hate. I treat it the same as guro, a forbidden knowledge I would have been happier without (don't search that term, for your own good) However, I never felt such emotion any of the scenes in TLS. Maybe because it was always consented ? Or because I'm mature enough to understad succubi culture *Angry anti-NTR fanatics noises* At its roots, I think the difference between them and me is that I have a clear definition of what I hate in NTR : a forceful reconstrution of the personality of the victim to make it dependant of its aggressor by the use of lust/drugs, destroying in the process the victim previous relationships based on love and trust. It's that reconstruction, dependance and destruction that I hate, not the actual act of s*x with others in itself. In the end, the harem are responsible adult women who make their own choices and grow up from these new interactions. Which is the absolute reverse of my previous demonstration. Thankfully, most of your fanbase have enough insight to have nuanced opinions ^^

2025-08-18 20:54:38 +0000 UTCI didn't particularly intend to follow up on that, as the king is still alive. I resolve a lot of things in the postgame, but I wanted at least some to be left to the future and the player's imagination.

2025-08-18 19:53:06 +0000 UTCBy the way, something that was thinking about as I have redoing some sections of the game again, would we ever get to see the next leader of New Givini? I was wanting to get Lunnell (Think that is her name) as the next leader by marrying Farren cause I figured with the Political and economics that they would bring in would be better than most of the other candidates.
