September 1 Update

I wanted to put out a TLS update on Friday, and maybe I could have pushed to do it, but it would have been exhausting and I decided to take you guys up on not pushing quite as hard.

Stineford was already done, but have some more screenshots in lieu of more abstract work. No more map remaking for a long while at least. -_-

Should be this coming Friday, though. It won't have the major new content like the optional dungeon, but I still think this is a non-trivial release because it includes a bunch of accumulated fixes like final battle balance, plus everyone can enjoy the new dialogue system for however long the next content takes. I hope to get lots of feedback on the new balance changes so I can incorporate that into the final optional dungeon.

Change notes for the upcoming build below. This kind of stuff isn't as flashy, but I think these are a major part of the game's fundamental quality, so hopefully everyone will be patient with the delays.

TLS 0.75.0

- The dialogue system of TLS has been massively overhauled to show character busts during conversations. Thanks to Rachnera and others for helping this happen.

- Substantial balance changes, including many new skills (see next section).

- Remade and polished prologue section.

- New custom title screen menu.

- New maps for all Stineford interiors.

- Further polishing, to the final battle and across the game (see lowest section).

- New windowskin thanks to Lamsey.

- New illustrated scene: Shard Sipping.


Balance Changes

- 33 new skills spread across the harem.

- 6 new skills dedicated to swapping active party members, a newly coded capability.

- 8 new synergy skills: Poison Storm, Piercing Assault, Weakening Assault, Agile Guard, Pure Thrust, Inspire, Anti-Tyrant Essence, Arcane Shieldwall.

- Uyae's stance skills no longer require a turn to switch.

- Thanks to Lord Forte for scripting help, the LUK statistic now has more complex effects on the game, including status effects, hit rate, and evasion.

- The LUK of both enemies and characters has been adjusted to compensate for these effects.

- Six new offhand items unique to Vhala have been added, spread throughout the game depending on decisions.

- Multiple synergy skills have been tweaked, and Forest Lance no longer requires synergy.

- The cost of Dominate/Corrupt was reduced.

- The damage formula for Quake was improved.


Past Changes and Additions

- Final ending requirements modified.

- The final push section now shows your variables more accurately.

- Lustlord's Shadow boss weakened.

- The Crystal of Harmony is now purchasable if you missed it.

- Eustrin now has two new tracks, thanks to Lamsey.

- Lamsey also contributed a significant number of modified sprites, such as succubus sex, prologue Simon, and a new Doom King statues.

Yup. Early on she's a bit of a glass cannon, but IMHO a little too much glass for the amount of cannon. Buffing her on offense *or* defense would be enough for me to put her in my normal lineup.

Uyae with two Zirantian Claws and Assault armor has always been in lineup for dealing with regular encounters, simply for the role of takedown-spammer. She can compete with Robin and Varia for damage through pretty much all of chapter 3 and 4. I can scarcily imagine how much wilder she can get with an added permanent attack buff, lol

New playthrough time. New playthrough time. God I'm so excited to do a new playthrough. Also happy to see you putting some pressure on the brakes, nothing wrong with how fast you go. But I would rather you avoid burnout, than have to power through it.

Though there are also other combat changes and general polishing coming, so keep that in mind depending on how much you intend to replay.

I'm glad you're setting goals and pushing back on the things that are exhausting to give yourself some time back there is never enough time for rest. Thank you for all the passion and effort you put in with updates like these. I greatly look forward to re-playing the game!

Definitely a non-trivial update. The sheer amount of mechanical changes can justify another full playthrough for some players (I'm some players).

Damnn the cathedral and the Velvet cape do be lookin fancy! Really justifies all the dialogue about how they are too nice for poor people. And I'm very excited for those mechanical changes! EDIT: Oh, and very glad you recognized your exhaustion and eased up on the gas pedal. A happy fanbase needs a happy (non-husk) Sierra!

Always happy for more gameplay changes. But I don’t believe Forest Lance requires synergy? It was Earth Lance instead, correct?
