«I burn my life to make a sunrise I know I’ll never see” is a thesis statement of Andor and Rogue One. I enjoy watching Jedi do their thing but this is special. The sacrifice these people make is so great and no one will know their names. This is why these are my two favourite Star Wars projects.

One of my favorite things first season was that the opening music always had different takes and instrumentation on the same theme. It gave you a feel for what the episode's tone would be. Then someone layered all 12 opening musics over each other and wow! It makes a cohesive whole. They has such attention to detail and creativity for everything on this show. https://youtu.be/c0hHD-FpcJc?si=uR6IwUpUWQQlYsiQ

BTW, the tunnels Cassian uses to access the hotels? Those are the tunnels Marva was trying to access when she fell a couple of episodes back. I love that little detail.

I did watch all of this. I cried so many times. It didn't have that impact on me the first two times I watched it. Everything feels different now. It's almost too much for me to condense into a comment on Patreon. I'm so glad you're watching this incredible show.

Re: Dialogue - I’m a big reader, so I absolutely get as stoked as you about good dialogue and writing. Digging into the whys of a characters motivations and seeing how they make decisions and how those decisions impact their story arcs. I’d wager a guess that it’s why actors love playing complex characters like Dedra and Luthen - they really get to dig in to that complexity and do so much with their performance.
When I’m reading, I’m often making note of phrases and lines that jump out at me. I keep them in my Notes app.
The writing for this show is so incredible.

I didn’t cry when I watched the first episode back when it came out. But Andy Serkis’ performance is so damn good, and as someone currently living in Minneapolis, where we are fighting ICE all day and night because this exact storyline is happening here (the arrests on false charges, disregard for who you are or the truth, lack of due process, disappearing people to facilities and prisons who knows where).. your acknowledgment that you are also seeing the parallels means so much, so thank you Taco and Andy for the tears. I needed to let those out.

Andor is truly one of the best shows that came out last year, and the best piece of Star Wars media I’ve maybe ever seen (and I include the Rogue One film, because if you haven’t seen it then it truly is the final episode of this journey). It couldn’t have come out at a better time, for real. The world needed this show so badly. The parallels to real life never stop, and people need to truly see examples of sacrificing their lives for the greater good because, let’s be honest, that’s what it’s going to take for a revolution. It’s beautiful.

We love how excited you get through these episodes 😍
Love Maarva's speech, it really does speak to the opressed, wherever they are, we see it all the time, and you need to hear these to bring people around. Inspirational.
Lucien's speech, too, is similar where he explains that some give up everything for something they'll never see. So often people cannot see past their own lives and endeavours to make change. I think Matt Damon's character in Interstellar says the same, you can care about your family and those you know, but "empathy rarely exists beyond our line of sight", so few consider making choices that benefit others and not just themselves.
Partner says there is actually an after credit scene on the finale episode, so you might want to dip back in a watch it!

Actually, I'm downloading it to my phone. I think the teacher I'm in for has a prep period at the end of the day, and I'll have nothing to do . . . Andor to the rescue!

Getting ready to head into school as a substitute (making a little extra cash, you know) . . . but I will be so sat for this when evening comes!! 🙌
