2024-10-29 21:32:58 +0000 UTCYeah for sure if I studied in my 20's I would have studied some bs I don't even care about cuz I didn't know what I wanted back then, got too depressed and dropped out. I just took the "college test" is what's it's called in my country. And then 3 days after the test I got fired from my new job. Goddamn I love being mentally ill! (/s) I'm proud I did the test and survived despite having an anxiety disorder but then my anxiety disorder made it very hard for me to learn the job because too much new info all at the same time and they wanted me to learn it all under stressfull situation.... Nope not gonna happen! Atleast with the test I studied at my own pace at home, not with someone stressing me on and judging every mistake I make. My coworkers even said they have trouble finding people for this role so all in all I'm just gonna say that workplace is chaotic in general, and they could have done so much more to help newbies learn the role, without stress and confusion!

Also, don't think that a degree is going to solve all your problems in life. Many people have degrees and are jobless or underemployed. Video game addiction does not mean that you're guaranteed to fail in life. There's a difference between having hobbies and being invested in something 24/7. You're doing good for yourself, but don't buy into the myth that you have to meet certain expectations at a certain age placed by society. It's Boomer Ideology. There are people that did exactly what they were taught and still ended up unsuccessful. Not everyone makes it in life.

I have been trying to make similar decisions about the stuff I subject myself to in my own life.

2024-10-23 22:02:08 +0000 UTCI agree with Paul that Stevie is probably a late bloomer, but it's not too late for him to start thinking about his life and make changes. I'm 30 now and I start to make bigger plans for my life now more then ever. I used to have crippling anxiety and depression so bad I struggled to keep jobs and I could barely function in general. Life is still uphill for me but the biggest change is that I actually have dreams and plans for my future now... And I'm setting goals and I'm slowly reaching them one by one. Final goal is to get into a university. I wish I could have studied in my early 20's like a normal person but that was not possible for me at the time so it is what is is I suppose... I can't change the past. Also something to mention is that if Stevie only plays video games that can seriously fuck up someones motivation too. I noticed after I quit League of Legends that my motivation went up by 300% almost immediately. I only game maybe 1-2 times a week now. Single player games are fine to me as I don't get so addicted to them. But I also have my main hobby which is art.
