INGLORIOUS BASTERDS FULL LENGTH REACTION

INGLORIOUS BASTERDS FULL LENGTH REACTION

Comments

Funny enough I first watched this movie in history class in high school! Teacher said that aside from the ending it’s a very realistic depiction of life during WW2.

Henry Leor

I agree. It's an excellent film, and I loved the reaction. I think Tarantino is a great film maker, and I love some of his films. But moments like that, really take me out of the films sometimes, like I can't ignore them, and it spoils so many scenes for me. There is no need to show stuff like that, it doesn't advance the scene or anything, it's purely fetish content and it's uncomfortable. I can enjoy the good moments, coz they're excellent, but separating the art from the artist is really difficult when they use the art to indulge in stuff like that.

Laura Murray

Sitting with this one a bit. There’s a lot that I enjoyed—but I really, really hated that I can’t separate the art from the artist with Brigitte’s death and Tarantino’s foot fetish. Going beyond the inspection of her feet, lingering on her twitching toes as Hans chokes the life out of her is certainly a choice. 🫤 Not to mention the Eli Roth of it all. Some genuine laughs though. I was surprised at how long and engaging the scenes were.

This one and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood feel like sisters to me. I really love the alternate history angle to the stories!

Would love to see reactions to all of the Tarantino films you haven’t seen..also fyi Kill Bill is being re released in theatres but in its original form as one movie.

Michael Taylor

There are so many Tarantino films I love — Jackie Brown, Reservoir Dogs, Django Unchained, etc. but I always find myself gravitating to this as my favorite and most memorable. This is, by far, my favorite performance by Brad Pitt of all time and the film that made me fall in love with Christoph Waltz (chronologically it came out before Django so this was my first intro to him). Their performances are just outstanding. Honestly, the ending is tragic (with Shoshanna and her partner Marcel) but I’ve always interpreted it as every person who entered that theater with a plan (the two Basterds and Shoshanna/her partner) knew they were all on suicide missions knowing it would be worth it for the greater good.

Is this a safe space to say that I’ve never seen a Tarantino film

Jessica

Ohhhh, this is going to be fun! I plan to watch later today. It is really hard for me to pick a favorite Taratino film whether he wrote it, directed it, and/or starred in it. I love the story twist he did with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. And there is Django, From Dusk to Dawn, Kill Bill, The Hateful Eight and so many more.

It may be mine at the moment as well! great ride...mmm well Kill Bill is pretty damn awesome hahah
