Not only this but I've also had a lot of therapists let me have the full hour if they don't have another appointment right after. I think most of them would love to go the full hour if they could

It’s so hard watching Nate work through this. I love that he’s gaining confidence, but he’s just not at the point yet where that confidence comes from within. He’s getting it by demeaning others. And it’s so so fragile.

Nate thinks the “Wonder Kid” shirt was a joke, making fun of him. We know that’s not why Will wanted to give it to him. Nate’s insecurities are deep. And, remember, he learned in season one, that being a dick is good (I’ve noticed as late, that you’re playing like a big dumb pussy).

I knew you would immediately get what is going on with Nate. It’s hard and disappointing to watch, because we were all rooting for him in S1, but so much of this show is about growth, and as you pointed out, how our lives and relationships shape us and how we treat others. And sometimes growth is painful for us and others before we get to the other side of it.
Episode 8 is such a pivotal point in this season. For Ted & Dr. Sharon, Jamie and Roy, Sam and Rebecca. And it sheds so much light on why Ted is the way he is. I really appreciated the storyline with Dr. Sharon and how her vulnerability with Ted and her accident helped him trust her enough to truly open up to her.
While this episode is definitely about dads (or in Roy’s case being an uncle standing in for Phoebe’s absent dad), I feel like the show has that as an overarching theme as well.
“Beard After Hours” is the other bonus episode we got for S2 in addition to the Christmas episode. They’d already filmed the season so they had to fit the 2 extra episodes in somewhere when the order came for them. Beard going off on his own at the end of the losing match was written to lead into that. Nothing more. It’s the one I previously commented on that gets mixed reviews. Enjoy it for what it is - like a bonus chapter in a book. It’s not necessary but it’s fun to get more content with characters you like.

So many folks get miffed about the 50 minute hour...but, a GOOD therapist, which Sharon is, would be taking notes and working on your case after you leave and before their next appt comes in. Only charging 10 minutes for this feels more than fair.

Please put "Slingblade" on your movie list for a poll. It's so good. There's also the reference to "Hoosiers," another classic film, when they see the stadium for the first time.
