Progress Update: A Cup of Something Warm

G'morning, maintenance crew! And for those who are celebrating, happy holidays!

This week, at long last, we have a turn for the positive. It feels like things are finally, genuinely beginning to settle down a bit in the background of the show. I'm finding my rhythm again, all of you have flooded in to fill the revenue gap after the demonetization, and the video is chugging along pleasantly.

For me it's just business as usual over the next few days through the holiday. Working hard to get you the story you've all been waiting for, and then, once that's done, I will celebrate.

So let's talk about what our trajectory is like right now...

Where are we now?

I've officially resumed doing audio editing again in Chloe's absence, and it's going quite well so far! I purchased a new set of headphones yesterday (which are just powerful enough for me to hear the problems with the show's audio quality in painful detail) and am blazing through the script at the moment. At the rate I'm going, I'd be shocked if I wasn't finished with the editing by tomorrow evening.

At the moment, the plan is to release the video on Saturday. I don't have an official pipeline worked out in the new circumstances though, so take that with a grain of salt. It's the plan, the dream, the desire, and with a pinch of luck it'll be the reality. But with this creative stuff, you never can be sure.

I will say this, though: I'm not hating the story on review, which is a shock. I typically have a strong dislike for everything I write, but this appears to have come through okay. It's certainly not my most stellar narration, as I've become a bit rusty in the long interim, but it's not bad, and coming from my self-critical fingertips that's got to mean something.

What's next?

As I said, the video is inching toward release, so there's that to look forward to. Beyond that, though?

The Patreon drive.

There's quite a bit riding on this, and I'm very excited for it. I've been working with DFTBA for months to create a special, one-off merch variant item that will only be available for the drive. Here's hoping you guys love the way it's turned out as much as I do!

Beyond that? Pratchett is on the horizon. The drive should take up January, but come February we're back to the show as usual. No more re-calibrations or confusing interims. It'll be a fresh start, and with all of you behind the show, I know it's going to be an incredible year.

So enjoy the holiday everyone. If you don't celebrate, enjoy the season! In either case, sit back, pour yourself a cup of something warm, and enjoy the story when it comes out! We've got a lot to look forward to in the coming months.
