Dev Blog - 7.2 Progress and AE

Well, we've hit yet another modpocalypse, and I'm still standing. The release of Anniversary Edition means a few things for LitR. The first is that I need to recompile the wabbajack installer against it, which is annoying because my local dev environment is currently on 7.2, which isn't yet complete. So I am working to finish it up and get 7.2 out the door. The major barrier to this, is just how much is changing with this update. The new Lunar Arsenal is a huge overhaul of the guns in the list. Every single modded weapon is being reworked. New mechanics and ammo types are being introduced. As part of this, I want to rework pretty much all the unique weapon choices, to take advantage of the new ammo types and mechanics, and to improve the overall quality. Given my short time frame to get this out, I'm going to have to spread these changes out over a couple patches. The 7.2 update has a LOT of weapons that were used as unique replacers coming out, however most of it will eventually be either readded or replaced over the next few patches.

The other elephant in the room is the new AE. LitR still runs off a downgraded copy of the game, just with some of the free CC content back ported to it. Once the dust settles, we'll see what the state of things is, and whether it's worth upgrading. I'm not planning on picking up AE until it goes on sale anyway. Backporting the free CC content that comes with AE is probably going to come to LitR eventually even if I keep the game on OG, same for the free Be a Bounty Hunter mod. But as I mentioned above, I've already got a lot of work to do on the list.

I'm hoping to get through the rest of the cleanup required before I can compile 7.2 this weekend. Keep an eye out for a new prerelease build.

Also note that some files got removed with the Anniversary update. Magnum Opus has some detailed instructions in their Changelog regarding the process.
