Modding LitR - Skip Prologue And Alt Start
Added 2025-05-24 10:08:52 +0000 UTCOver the history of LitR, there have been various Skip-The-Prologue mods included, however as of the current release there isn't one included.
If you're looking to add one, then I have two recommendations
SKK Fast Start is the most straightforward. It just allows you to skip the prologue, and teleports you to outside the vault. I don't include it in the main list by default as it's extremely confusing for new players who aren't expecting it. This is what I use for testing. The only downside is that it gives you loot based on as if you'd completed the vault that doesn't match Lunar's changes - you get an extra gun and a bit more ammo.
The other option for users wanting to skip the prologue is
Start Me Up - Basic Version is a little more involved, as it gives you some choices. It used to be included, however I removed it in order to streamline things a bit. Note- this is NOT the full version, and NOT the redux. When you download this, make sure to scoll down past the optional files and grab the one marked BASIC. If you grab the full one from here it will cause problems.
Start Me Up Redux Is actually fairly compatible, at the time it was included in the list no patching was required, just place it relatively high up in the load order (and resolvefor conflicts in xedit, if any have popped up since then), with one major caveat - choosing anything other than "the clothes on my back" at start up will typically cause this to CTD. I wasn't comfortable leaving something in the list as a trap for new players. Also, while the traits are an interesting role playing tool, they're too easy to min-max, and can throw the intended balance of the list a bit out.
