Okay! Alright! Okay! A new video!
I made that post a day or two ago because I looked at the calendar, looked at my release history, and thought "oh my god I haven't had a normal video since December." I had two that I shot in my basement and one that was really out of character (I seem to do this around the winter months) but finally, here's a new Ordinary Video.
Overall, I am very proud of this one. I tried to make this exact video 2-3 years ago and simply ran out of space. I was shooting in my basement office at the time, and it just didn't look good, I didn't like it, and I almost released it, but I'm really glad I didn't because it sucked.
This one, however, ended up looking pretty good, since I had the space and lighting to actually set up two broadcast-grade cameras and point them at myself with comfortable framing, which makes all the difference. This is an enduring problem with youtubers talking about cameras: They end up having to park them 2' away from themselves, at awkward angles with busy backgrounds, because they just don't have the space to do a clean setup. I cannot thank you all enough for making it possible to finally do this video correctly - and future videos along the same lines.
But I have one single reservation that I will kick myself over, forever: The previous release candidate of this video was precisely one hour long. 1:00:00. This one is not, because I flubbed a line and it wasn't fixable. I had to remove a few seconds of footage because I had made an absolutely critical factual error, just by switching up some words in the script, and I forgot to adjust other clips to compensate. So it's 59:51 - and I guess that's just as well, it's probably slightly less intimidating to new viewers.
Enjoy!
