Update November 2024

Holy crap, it's already November. Where the hell does the time go?

Anyway, long time no talk. Sorry, that's on me. It's been a rough couple months. Like, real rough. Lost my job, so had to go onto 'income assistance' (Canada's version of welfare); haven't been able to find another job, although I'm hopeful I can at the very least find some part time shit at Walmart; that sickness I had earlier in Summer, that wasn't done with me, either, and I've had random migraines and bouts of dizziness ever since; my car is being held together with flex-tape (way better than duct tape) and harsh language; and just yesterday, I accidentally destroyed the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT VEHICLE ON THE FARM (considering the tractor's still out of commission). It's been a shitty time. I'm broke, depressed, and cold.

BUT! I shall not give up. I'm throwing myself into my writing as a way to cope- I mean, 'distract myself'. I just... ya know, I've been going where the muses lead me. I've written some poetry for the first time in a long time, been working on some other stuff. I just haven't been feeling the Self Insert. That changes today, though! Today, I claw back a little bit of my life! Today, I finish this chapter! Today, I claim my VICTORY! 

Or so I hope, anyway. It's why I share no preview with this update.

I'll try to share some of what I've been working on lately over the next week or so. Nothing is really finished, and I write all my poetry by hand (and it's basic as hell, and I don't think I'm very good at it, and I have been mocked for it before...), so I dunno. I'll think of something.

So, what have I been working on? A little bit of Warhammer stuff, a little bit of original work. I've come up with a new idea for a shorter novel, and I've been working on a treatment and synopsis, rather than beating my head into the wall with the one I'm stalled on. It's a fantasy story about a dwarf who moves back to his ancestral homeland to get away from the looming threat of conflict, only to find that the only thing he still has in common with his people is his race. So, it's more of a drama story about relocating and not fitting in. Sound familiar? I mean, they do say that the best stories are inspired by real life... XD

I actually have the next Self Insert chapter all planned out, already, too. I won't even hazard a guess about how long it's gonna take to write, but I am still trying. At the end of the day, that's all I really can do; just do my best.
