When I started making more animations on the original Neeko scene, the performance began to drop drastically to an almost unusable level. I'm still not entirely sure why, I tested so many different things to see what was causing the performance issues but it began to feel like a mixture of environment, physics, collisions and so on.
So I did some experimentation, and found a new environment that I like a lot. It's different to the original environment but actually far more in line with what I originally had in mind AND it runs far better. So far at least. And so here we are, I have started again but honestly I'm already making fantastic progress in terms of the time to content ratio.
As you'll see in the preview attached above, the scene will have a day mode and a night mode. There will also be performance settings in the scene so you can adjust the scene to fit your computer specs, I'm planning on giving a quite extensive selection of options so that as many people as possible will be able to run the scene.
EDIT: I should also note that Neeko is likely to lose her tail for the scene, even though the tail is what originally caught my attention and I really wanted to animate it. The tail is partly to blame for the performance drop, the amount of behind the scenes stuff I had to setup to be able to animate it was apparently too much.
I plan on adding more information behind the tech that goes into making these scenes as and when I release more updates, so first and foremost expect more updates but also expect explanations of what I have been doing and what it actually does for the scene.
With that in mind, I wish you all a good day or good night and I'll be back in touch soon!
