Weekly Report 40
Added 2024-12-16 05:39:58 +0000 UTCApologies for the later than usual weekly report. Unfortunately, last week a situation came up that made my place of living unsafe to the point I had to move to another place to live on short notice. It was a stressful time getting moved out quickly to a different location. Because of this, I have had little time to work.
Despite this, however, I believe too much time has passed between any sort of content release, so I've decided to try and clean up what has been developed so far and release it. GoF Island V0.099 has been released for EA, and the previous GoF Island EA version, V0.092, has been released for free on the google drive.
To recap what has been posted on the weekly reports for this update, so far the following is 'completed' and available in V0.099 -
A new playable character (like Mary, she can be selected by starting a new game) and intro for her
Four new standard enemies around the new playable character's spawn point
The basic map area for the new playable character
Most of the new boss (the stage 2 special move and finale moves are not finished yet)
Essentially, most of what I had planned on completing last week is still unfinished. I still need to add the 'faces' stuff, mini-scenes for a few of the new playable character's attacks, a few items, and some other small things. I haven't had much time to test the new character's moveset either, so the character is likely unbalanced in some way. The 'town area' is still lacking in NPCs to interact with, and most of the 'houses' still need a bit of work, so they are blocked off. No scenes with NPCs will be available in the new 'town area' in this update, and the stores also aren't finished yet. Like in Castaway Port, the 'town area' for the new character will have a 'fill-in' update for content in it at some point in the future.
I'll be working on finishing up everything as quick as I can. I hate having to split up an update again after having to do it for the previous update, but irl stuff has just made this update a mess. With that said, I would like to thank everyone for your patience and support! I cannot say it enough how much it has helped me get through these issues!
To try ending this on a more positive note: While I hesitate to say this considering how this update went, the next update (defeat / capture content) shouldn't have any problems that could delay it. I don't have any specific amount of enemies I want to complete, but rather just want to see how many I could do in a two month time span. This should mean that at the end of two months, I can just release whatever has been finished. We'll just have to see though. Once again, thank you everyone!
