Well, for those of you who watched the last video, you may have noticed the visceral reaction people had to me using about 6 AI images in the video. I knew there was going to be a few comments, but I didn't expect the essay-length comments about how horrible of a person I am.

So, I've spent the last 6 hours re-editing the entire video to remove those images, and of course I've learned my lesson and will not be using any AI generated image moving forward. This video was only an exception because of how long it is and the fact that no images of the reported animal exist.

I sometimes think that people forget the there is a person behind the videos. I work 30-40 hours per week on each video, and I honestly try my best for each one. So while I appreciated people who left kind, constructive criticism, anyone who claimed that they unsubscribed and wished ill upon me, well, it's probably for the best that they're gone.

Here is the re-edit. Sorry if I offended any of you.

So sorry to hear that! I really loved the video and now I really want to go to New Zealand and look for the otter ;)

Thanks Gerhard. And you should have seen the comments that YouTube withheld. When I went in to review I was shocked at how angry some people had gotten. This is why my name and face will never be associated with the channel.

Many of the comments were unnecessarily harsh. We all harm the environment in some way through the things we do. We are human beings and we need resources. The important thing is to be aware of this and to use resources sensibly and responsibly, just as we must do with AI. In my opinion, you did just that and even informing your audience transparently about it. If there is constructive criticism because of this, it is justified. However, to point the finger at you and boycott you simply because you used a few AI-generated images is, in my opinion, very hypocritical. I'm sure that no viewer would have even noticed the images were AI-generated if you hadn't mentioned it. This is also a problem with our internet culture, where everyone thinks they are an expert and can anonymously criticise everything and everyone while generously overlooking their own mistakes. Don't waste too much time on such haters. You're a great guy and a great YouTube creator. You know what's best for you and your channel, and you produce excellent videos every week. Screw the people who don't appreciate that.
