Early Access: Reasons for failure? Russian Air Force in Ukraine
Added 2022-03-03 19:39:03 +0000 UTC
Another busy 48h since the last video! Here is my analysis of the Russian's Air Forces situation in Ukraine, and I also talk to two experts that give their own unique insights into the matter! The video will go live very soon.
Normal proceedings with ordinary early access periods will resume soon! Right now the timelines are just punishing.
Note: Messed up the iso setting on this one. Mea culpa - it happens :(
Thanks so much!

I’ve been watching your YouTube videos for a while, subscribed and always enjoyed them. Mainly used them as a resource for my model building hobby. However, your video analyzing the performance of the Russian Air Force in Ukraine was so informative, carefully sourced, and insightful that I had to go beyond subscribing in YouTube.
Amidst the challenges of online misinformation, folks like you are needed more than ever.
Thanks for your work!

Maybe they are holding back their best units out of fear of divulging information to the west on performance and capabilities. Maybe they were afraid of a crashed plane being lost to Ukrainian forces through a lucky missile hit or just mechanical breakdown and the West getting their hands on it.

Thanks for the early access, Chris. Good analysis. I've had to cut the viewing short as I must give myself some time away from this.

Hi Chris. From what I remember from the Soviet era, the Soviets placed more than emphasis on having organic SHORAD at a much lower level than say the US. Where the US army would have divisional level (or higher), the Soviets would Shilkas an SAMs down to the regiment or BN level. It’s almost as though they doctrinally gave up trying to compete w western air forces. Think of the Egyptians attacking the Israelis in ‘73 from behind a shield of SAMs and ADA. Have they changed their doctrine? Great job. Another Chris

I dig the medieval tunic. The Russians are animals. Madness has descended on Europe. Great video. I wish the 40 mile long Russian column was napalmed all night long. The Americans could have done it. Napalm is not outlawed like cluster bombs. They need to send some tomahawk missiles into Belarus to the palace and KGB building.

Without wanting to raise a storm of opinions, is there a chance the west might call for and establish a no fly zone? If Russian air power has long been a bit back footed, and doctrinaire this is one aspect Nato might have an upper hand…or is Russian military running de facto a limited war by not bringing full air power to bear?
