January 2023 Teaser 01

Hey everyone,

Happy New Year!

To kickstart off this year, I will be bringing out something special - a collaboration tutorial with my good friend Stephy

In this 2-part tutorial, we will start off with Stephy showing you how to create a garment in Clo3D and then export it to C4D, and in part 2, I will show you how to light and texture a scene with the garment, featuring some pretty interesting techniques.

I'm really excited to share this one with you and I hope you'll all find it really valuable. It will be released later this week.

Catch you soon :)

Hey, Hugo! Thanks for the heads up. I haven't heard back from Ross yet. Is the Pixelmator a plugin for Photoshop or a different standalone software?

Christopher Zeischegg

Did you find an answer to your question? I ended up getting Pixelmator Pro on Mac which supports .exr https://www.pixelmator.com/pro/

Hugo Ahlberg

Thanks so much for the quick reply! I believe I have a Discord account, but I'm not sure I've ever used it... Sorry for the potentially dumb question: Was there a Discord channel I have access to when signing up for this Patreon account? If it's easiest, I'm happy to accept a quick message or video link through the messsages here on Patreon.

Christopher Zeischegg

Hi Christopher! I'll add this to the list and see if I can get that together for you. I'll shoot you a message on Discord as well, may be quicker if you're on a deadline :)

And we're only just getting warmed up...

BTW, I've found some EXR plugins for Photoshop, but they seem to only work for PCs. I'm on a Mac.

Christopher Zeischegg

Hey Ross, thanks for all this new content! I'm still quite behind on your videos, but looking forward to jumping back in when I have some time. One thing I'd love for you to address, if possible, is the proper way to get EXR files into Photoshop (or Redshift AOVs in general). I come from a video and 2D animation background, and have been using After Effects to composite Redshift AOVs with this ACES workflow in After Effects ( https://youtu.be/Td_8YJnPeaU ). But I have an upcoming client who is mostly going to be asking for still product renders. Of course, I could composite my renders in After Effects, but if I save a .PSD from After Effects for example, it defaults to 72dpi – whereas I would need to deliver everything to the client in 300dpi. Any help here would be incredible. Thanks in advance!

Already starting the year with heat! Looking forward to the video
