October has arrived — and so has a brand-new monthly update for the PP Filter!
As always, this update will be compared to the September release, highlighting what’s changed and improved.
Post-Process Changes & New Effects
Exposure has been slightly decreased.
Sunlight is now softer and less harsh.
Some tonemapping adjustments from previous versions have been reverted, while other values were increased to counteract the clarity loss caused by the reduced exposure.
Glare and bloom are now fully dynamic and linked to exposure. Glare “spikes” are less noticeable during the day, while bloom appears stronger around bright light sources.
A vignette effect has been added by default to draw more focus toward the center of the screen.
Contrast now dynamically adjusts with exposure — lower in darker scenes, higher in bright environments.
CPL is now oriented more toward the camera.
Godrays are more intense and visually striking.

Interior Improvements
Overall brightness has been balanced — interiors are no longer blindingly bright.
September Update vs. October Update

Skydome Changes
The sun’s core brightness has been enhanced, making it more distinct and visible in the sky.
The sky intensity has been reduced during certain times (e.g., morning and evening) to prevent it from blending too much with the sun and appearing overly bright in reflections.

Ambient Light
The previously present, unnatural ambient light that appeared during semi-dark or cloudy conditions has been removed.

Night Time
The moon has been resized — no more planet-sized moon!
Thanks to dynamic contrast and exposure adjustments, nighttime visibility has been significantly improved, revealing more detail in dark scenes.
