Ramble

Hallooo! Time for this week's update.

Pretty simple week in terms of what I worked on, so let's jump in!

Summary

• Editing Chapter 6
• Updating menu screens

Writing

So basically I've been editing Chapter 6. This is the chapter I was previously calling 5.5, which was the new chapter I added in to address some plot gaps and pacing issues.

I'm officially calling it Chapter 6 now since that is what it will be called in the game.

Of course, as a brand new chapter, it's essentially untouched from an editing perspective (unlike the other chapters where the common content and Asher's content has all had one pass).

There is obviously a lot of fleshing out and correcting since this is basically a potato draft getting cleaned up for the first time.

I'm about half done with it and am nearly finished with the first round of LI-specific scenes.

This is also right after the LI route gets locked in which means that for a few chapters there are some non-route versions of certain scenes as well. There isn't really a non-romance path...

If you don't end up on a route, you kind of get off-ramped from the game within a few chapters and Wil leaves the crew under various circumstances. But it does mean that in moments where there are six LI interactions, there has to be a non-LI interaction too. And this is really the first chapter where that starts happening.

So there are a couple of instances where instead of six variations to edit....there are seven.

Yay!

Another issue is that in Chapter 5, a certain LI reveals a secret to Nymera. This secret (X) is part of another secret (Y). But just part of it.

All through chapter 6, I had somehow convinced myself that instead of revealing X, this LI had revealed Y.

So I have a lot of variations in that reference the MC knowing about Y. The problem is that the MC doesn't know about Y. They know about X.

So I have also been correcting that issue. Fortunately, this only lasts for one chapter. Chapter 7 is where the LI reveals Y and that appears to be written correctly (I did check). So I should not have many more of these corrections to make.

But yeah, that's one of the things that happens sometimes. You get mixed up as to what has happened and where and if you don't double check...you write in a lot of inconsistencies you have to correct later on.

I don't remember if I received a new BG since my last update. But I don't think so...

Continuing to update the menu screens here and there...

Upcoming

Hopefully finishing up Chapter 6 edit. This chapter is shorter than the last one but is still 33,000 words. I imagine it'll be longer by the end because usually my revisions do flesh stuff out or add more variations.
