Yup, more concept art
Added 2024-11-15 10:58:51 +0000 UTCIt's Cerulean again, except i drew his face better than the last time. I did some brainstorming about what kind of armour he should be wearing below his neck, and I've decided on a cloak with a cowl, pauldrons, a quilted gambeson, steel & leather gauntlets, and steel & leather boots. Obviously I've a long way to go with actually drawing these in action, in the many different poses he might be in, but at least I have some ideas as to what I want him looking like.
The pauldrons are my first goal to get right, they look fine here, however the design on them feels a bit out of place, too modern. I want my fantasy setting to have a very contrasting mix of medieval and modern-looking magic technology, but this modern looking pauldron design looks out of place on this character for some reason. Maybe it's the gambeson? Some more brainstorming is in order here.
One more detail that should be easy-ish to design is his cape. Yeah he has a cape, he's a villain. Maybe next time I'll draw him with his back turned.
