Hey everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying the summer!

I always like to bike a lot in the summer, and often head for the bits of nature just outside my city. It’s super relaxing- and during those bike rides I always seem to come up with the best ideas for Space Rescue. I sometimes even wish I could do more work outside, but I guess my desk is still the best place for doing some actual drawing :)

And last week I’ve been drawing a lot! I first wanted to focus on the scenes at Keens school- and so I started by detailing all the characters for these scenses. And this is what I made:

Usually I’m a bit slower when it comes to drawing and refining new characters- because I tend to think a lot about what they wear. But this thime things went pretty fast... which was probably because they all wear the same uniform as keen :)

And here you can see some examples of the steps I took during the drawing proces.

And once I finished these characters, I went back to the backgrounds for these scenes and started by refining the buildings some more.

The idea here was to make these buildings ‘futuristic’ by making them modular- and give them the ability to fly off at any time. So I added some more wing-like elements to some buildings, and tried to design them in a way that their parts can move a bit around. Next I also added another big ‘science’project on the right side, to create a bit more balacnce between the screens. It’s a giant robot that the girls from the dorm are working on.
