May Book Club REVIEW - I loved it!

For May, I read Daisy Jones and the Six - and I really enjoyed it! I appreciate that the author doesn't write books in a straightforward linear way, but there's always something a little bit different. I thought it was cool that the story is told exclusively through interviews as well! Fun! Great characters, too!

I haven't watched the TV show yet but from what I've heard, people have really enjoyed it. I wonder if it'll stay true to the book..

Did you read Daisy Jones this month (or sometime before)? Let me know your thoughts!

Interesting. Might need to check that one out now.. πŸ‘

The show is filmed partly in the same interview style. I would say watch it but some of the changes seem to make no sense to me!

My friend was saying that some of the books from this author happen in the same universe! So Mick Riva was one of the husbands and was featured in Daisy Jones - it's called the "California dream (crossover) series" The other one is "Malibu Rising" which features Mick Riva's kids!

I wondered about the TV show! I really liked the book format and I could have sworn it had actually happened lol

I really enjoyed this one, probably more than Evelyn Hugo. The style was interesting, and it was filled with characters that were less than perfect examples of humanity to say the least... πŸ˜‚ For me it had a kind of sense of impending doom as you felt it was going to turn in to a bit of a car crash (not literally this time...πŸ˜‚) Also, wasn't MIck Riva one of Evelyn's husbands?? Small world I guess. I wonder if Taylor did a lot of research for this book or knows people in the industry because it really captured the feel of that era, and brought to mind so many of the big bands of the 1970s.

I read this a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed the format. I also liked the way it was documented as if it had really happened and we were reading a history of the 'real' band. It flowed well and was a very easy read. Well worth picking up. I then watched the series but as always it wasn't as good as the book. Probably better if I hadn't read the book first.
