Tom

I’m 52 years old an I’ve started using “yum” as part of my conversation, not sure where I got that from! Thanks Alanna!!

Steve Hale

Thank you. Iceland is worth every penny and you will need plenty of them too.

Adam Clark

Cheers Neil, really appreciate it!!

Adventures and Naps

Yum!!

Adventures and Naps

Yup, you can get Bisto here!

Adventures and Naps

Great question! The first thing that comes to mind is mince pies that I made on a Best Buds livestream last Christmas. It was so messy and sticky and I never made pastry before and having people watching was stressful! lol but they actually turned out really well!

Adventures and Naps

No lemon at all!!! So great to know that works in a pinch if I'm stuck without baking soda.

Adventures and Naps

Definitely didn't taste like lemon, thank god!! Thanks for your support!!

Adventures and Naps

Thank you very much Adam, and happy belated birthday!!!!! 🥳 I've always wanted to go to Iceland, hopefully some day.

Adventures and Naps

Well I enjoyed the school video, and I enjoyed this one too as it had cheese... and now I have Tim Minchin's Cheese! song in my head 😆

David Powell

like me you've been here awhile Mr Clark and if I may say, I'm surprised at 60 as you never came across as being a day older than 59!

David O

Thanks Andy. I know that song well but I was thinking that the last 50 years got behind me too quickly!

Adam Clark

Happy birthday Adam. I'm not that far behind you 😔 Do you remember the Pink Floyd song Time? About how 10 years suddenly gets behind you?

Andy Mlynek

As we are talking about crying a lot i have a couple of things i could have cried over this week too. Firstly i had to cancel my trip to Iceland due to the quarantine rules that they have put on all visitors, that really sucked because i love going there. Secondly i turned 60 yesterday! I can't bloody believe the little 10 year old me has got this old lol. Oh well, shit happens as they say. Sometimes you are going to do videos on controversial topics and that will always attract the haters although i think they are there waiting to pounce on anything. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, so keep keeping on and just do you and any other well worn cliche that fits the bill. I hope you know that all of us on here appreciate everything you do and your cheesy biscuits looked awesome.

Adam Clark

Ignore those that hate on your videos... the vast majority of us find them fun and entertaining! And that's what really matters. 😉😊 The biscuits looked like a success, with a little additional cook time. And I didn't hear a word about them tasting like lemon. Another great video Alanna 👏👏

James Alberg

Hi alanna. Great video as always. I just wanted to say, I thought your Tuesday yt video was great too. Just don't listen to all the haters. Pay them no mind. Its your channel you can do what ever you want to do. Also them cheese biscuits looked really good. Could you taste the lemon in them or not?

Stewie Whittaker

British people can be surprisingly touchy about school. But then, if you had to go through a soggy biscuit, i suppose you would be. What would you say is the hardest thing you've ever cooked/baked?

Brett Carruthers

Absolutely, you can’t beat a bit of Bisto gravy, but is this available in Canada?

Steve Hale

With Bisto gravy!! Oh that sounds perfect!

Andy Mlynek

Hi Alanna, just an idea for a fun video with savoury food as the theme, how about a British classic, sausages and mash potatoes. Now that’s well yummy!

Steve Hale

great vid as always and great vid on Tues you never fail to make me laugh in my humdrum existence. You were not wrong here in the West Mids a pretty big diverse area, with a big population, the 11+ is alive and well, Grammar schools are over subscribed , there are plenty of faith schools and gender separated schools still exist. Unfortunately people not appreciate the differences and similarities that exist between us, even on this little island. So keep doing what you are doing in your clever, humorous way and ignore the muppets that can't recognise that

Neil Cowley

Thank you!! 💜

Adventures and Naps

😊😊😊

Adventures and Naps

Ahh yes, the Canadiancheese tasting video!! That does seem like a long time ago..

Adventures and Naps

Thank you 💜

Adventures and Naps

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Adventures and Naps

Canadians say aluminum like the Americans!

Adventures and Naps

Alanna, When you said "baking soda" your Canadian accent really stood out! Do Canadians say "Aluminum" like in the States or "Aluminium"? P.S. If you were to pass away in a cheesy inferno we would be very sad...😥

Steve Mikre

Sorry bout the rude comments! I'm real sick but this vid helped me feel a bit better, so thank you!!

Aaron Conway

I'll admit that I did think "hang on" pretty early into your School video. I think the mistake that you made was being Kentocentric: Kent is unlike the rest of England (at least) with its grammar schools. Maybe you need a little panel of The Great and Wise that you can run these things by before publishing: problem being that you might lose some spontaneity and making such mistakes can be good for social media accounts, in a counterintuitive kinda way.

David O

Like people have said the school’s video was a perfectly good video and if you researched it then you couldn’t reasonably expect a negative response. Your partner didn’t have a typical school experience but in my opinion putting kids through a pressure filled exam at eleven is cruel, single sex schools are just wrong and there were times when buying uniforms for myself and my sister’s was incredibly stressful for my parents. Most of the angry people probably clicked onto the video already angry because you’re foreign and critical of aspects of England, if you put up this video on YouTube you would piss someone off saying our cheese is a different colour. I hope you’re over it by now anyway and having a good weekend. Thanks for the video, I don’t love cheese like you do but I’m sure they were really nice.

Sarah Hogg

SOOODA! Great fun as always 💜

Chris

2020 has been hellish for so many of us, but one of the few shining points of light in this sea of darkness is the A&N Community. Watching another kitchen science experiment that turns out deliciously well is a highlight, thank you Alanna. Don't let the internet hate get you down, you are achieving so much in countries all around the world by simply providing a cool place to hang out, and by showing us that, no matter what life throws at us, we can hydrate, exercise, wash our hands, and carry on. Some days we might lie on the floor and cry as we eat cheese scones covered in butter, but that is ok too. Even in exile in your Mother's kitchen, you have once again brightened our day. Thank you.

Isleworth Times

Thanks for another smile inducing start to Saturday :-) If you want to make cheese cookies, this is a great recipe: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2009/jan/03/chilli-almond-biscuits-recipe How about setting up a fancy cheese fund, then doing a taste comparison of the ones you were looking at the other week/month/lifetime?

Dr Philip J Naylor

Well said!! And if I may say, a fine use of expletives haha

Andy Mlynek

Like the other people who have commented i thought the school video was ok, some people just like complaining. I also thought the original scones video was funny. I think you should do another driving video, just point out how two thirds of people on the road have no clue of how to drive properly ( my thoughts ), and then the following week you can make a follow up video discussing the comments you got.

Arthur Gatward

Mini rant time (sorry not sorry)... Firstly, people are dicks! Don’t listen to anything they say (including me if you choose 😋). Secondly, Tuesdays video was great, you researched by asking people, so what you talked about was relevant, just cos it wasn’t their experience! Thirdly, (IMO) you have not made a bad video yet! You’re interesting, you’re funny, you’re genuine... so in summary, you’re cool, you’re videos are great, the internet idiots can get fucked! Great video, Cheese biscuits looked fab! Makes me want some of my Granny’s scones... trying to think of other things she bakes that you might be able to make 🤔

Gem

Good morning Alanna, another successful cooking operation! Savoury food is definitely the best. Regarding your education video, I thought it was really good and it took me back to taking my 11+. And if some people didn't like it, that's their problem. The most important people like your family love you and your extended virtual family here on patreon also love you! When you feel sad again just remember how many people you give happiness to. Have a wonderful weekend and week ahead ☺

Andy Mlynek

Hi Alanna, personally I really enjoyed the school video so don’t let the small minded minority get you down, they are just not worth it. Today’s video was fantastic, cheese biscuits/scones with butter one of my favourite, but since going low carb are just an occasional treat now. Take care and stay safe.

Steve Hale

I enjoyed the school video. The UK education system varies a lot so the experience will be different for everyone. If people get upset about a video then they have their own issues, ignore them

Simon
