Sales tax and other updates
Added 2020-05-30 21:01:03 +0000 UTCJust a heads up if you've not heard, but patreon is now legally required due to tax law changes to charge sales tax on certain types of pledge levels. I read through everything and it isn't quite clear what will or will not require it...but I'm betting it's commissions and not just support stuff.
Other updates: I AM DONE WITH COVID OVERTIME! Legally, I've been told I can't work more Overtime for the foreseeable future, so after I take some rest time to recover (where I'll likely be doing footage game recording anyways because...well, I'm me) I'll be starting up on production of next year's stuff soon--starting with the items that have been most in my backlog. Once again, I'm sorry I've had to keep pushing the final vids of the yugioh reviews and Garo makai No Hana back year after year. This is however the earliest I've ever been able to start work in advance of release, so we'll see how six-7 months of head start will add up to...even though I have to take time to be part of and then recover from Prime week in about six weeks, and then peak season overtime in November/December. I've saved up about three weeks of time off right now, so we'll see what I can get done if I take most of a month off.
Oh and yes, as far as I know prime week is still happening this year, mark your calenders if you indulge in Amazon's summer savings events. Personally I'll more likely be wasting my paycheck on a Right Stuf order of Isekai and mecha anime...in part because Dammit I need the Gundam Seed blurays for one of the upcoming projects and that got delayed in release due to COVID. I am not reviewing that series in Specific, but I do need it for another thing.
I'm also considering some other video types to put in weeks I don't have a review on the schedule as just something space-save-y or won't be rushed to youtube like a rapid review. We'll see how that works out.
A Reminder for those wanting to donate to Request tier: due to a LOT of work being put in to make sure I have close to a full year of content for my anniversary year, I'm doing early cutoffs for Patreon requests again. If you have something you'd like to request, let me know by the end of July...and make sure your payments will actually be able to go through. I've had a couple people in-and-out of request tier this year that've sent in a request only to end up truant on payments when Patreon comes around to collect. I can understand that because of the Covid Crisis most are strapped for cash and if that's the case on why then that's fine as your own health and security is more important than a completely optional request and donation; but because of it, the lack of communication on the matter and the timecrunch I'm usually in to get things done and how patreon requests take first priority in make and release every year I'm considering changing the cost of the request tiers.
Looking out to 2022: I don't do many polls for review options, but considering a theme I'm planning for that year (if we get there)...well, a few will be going up for that because I'm interested in suggestions of what and when I should cover material on the subject. You'll be seeing details at a later date, likely after I have everything in order for 2021 because I like to work way in advance to not have major issues...even though the major issues keep coming.
...crap, we're still Seven months from 2020 being over. Every month feels like its own year.
Stay safe, everyone!

Tell you what, it's my anniversary year anyways and I'm starting working on things super-early, I'll just open another slot for them when the other patron is ready to continue. According to Matt who's familiar with what The other person requested, it's not something that'll take me forever.

2020-06-06 19:09:22 +0000 UTCWe have an $80 patron already that had to discontinue in the short-term due to COVID-related matters who were not truant initially. Those are not the kind I was referring to.
