Wanna Listen to Some Dungeon Synth?
I'm making the music for the dungeon synth album totally differently than I've made music in the past. And honestly, I should have been doing it this way the whole time.
In the past I would write a few songs and try to make them as good as possible over a long time. And I'd often end up perfuming a couple of skunks. This time, I instead wrote about 35 different song sketches to see which ones really sparked joy.
This took me a little over two months, and I threw away a lot of ideas right away. But I kept, well... I kept 22 of them. And now I need to figure out which ones to finish, polish up, and turn into actual songs.
So I wanted to give you a chance to help make those decisions. Here's a link to a private Soundcloud playlist with the 22 nascent, would-be, mote-of-an-idea song sketches:

Take a listen! If anything jumps out as being particularly good (or awful), I invite you to let me know on Discord or here on Patreon. The ones that you like are the ones I'll finish.
Devilish Deals
I also did some wordsmithing on Devilish Deals and moved it out of beta. Time to go make a pact with some shitty demigods.

This is extremely helpful! It’s interesting how divided the feedback I’ve gotten is on ambient vs not. Some prefer the more ambient ones so they can be background to a gaming session and others find them a bit boring. I’ll try to find the right balance there.

2024-12-30 15:31:46 +0000 UTCI’m a bit late to the discussion but I think “Stress” is by far my favorite of the playlist. “Other rooms” feels a bit mellow compared to what the other tracks are delivering. Personally I’m not a fan of the more ambient tracks. There’s not a whole lot but they do stand out with how grand and oppressive the other tracks are. If I had make a list of what I’d hope would make it to the cassette it would be: Stress, Something Approaches, VG1, Harpsichord, 88s, and Organ That being said I hope the rest of these get released at some point. You should make more music this stuff is really great

2024-12-19 17:04:32 +0000 UTCI really liked Parabola, The Night Rider is Dead, Warble, Ambient & Noise as nice mood setting tracks I could see being used in the background of a lot of games. Also really liked Other Rooms!
