Swerve Strickland dealing with legit injury

On the August 13 episode of AEW Dynamite, it was noted that Swerve Strickland had been seen by AEW doctors for a knee injury. Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp is told that is based on reality, and it could affect the immediate future of All Elite Wrestling.
Fightful Select confirmed that Swerve is actually working with a torn meniscus, and that it isn’t anything new. He’s actually had a tear in his meniscus since 2019 when he was training at the Performance Center. At the time, he rested it for four weeks and was back on television.
AEW sources indicated that Jacksonville Jaguars medical is actually helping him recover from the injury. There is a possibility he could require surgery and time off. We’d heard earlier this year that Swerve was actually going to take time off after All In, but that didn’t end up happening
Swerve is slated to face Kazuchika Okada for the AEW Unified Title at AEW Forbidden Door.

Meniscus trim is 4-6 weeks return and repair is 3-6 months based on typical NFL time tables. Example JJ McCarthy missed the season last year because of a repair in preseason. Harrison Butker (kicker) had a trim and was back in 5 weeks.
