The Fightful Select rumor roundup and news update for August 15!

• Those we spoke to backstage haven't heard developments on the ROH Women's Pure Title of late.

• There were a number of people surprised by some of the graphics for Forbidden Door airing when they did. Obviously Kota Ibushi was among them. There were a number of talent who didn't realize the cage match and all participants would be announced.

• TNA sources have claimed that higher ups say they're not expecting to move to Wednesdays. It's worth noting both Sean Ross Sapp and Jon Alba reached out to Carlos Silva, who wouldn't deny things.

• PWInsider Elite reports that Liv Morgan was set for a medical evaluation this week, and that the internal hope was that she'd be back at the start of 2026. We have heard that has long been the optimistic target for her.

• Microman, La Hiedra, La Parka, Faby Apache, Nino Hamburguesa, Mesias and Lady Flammer have signed WWE contracts for AAA, per Wrestling Observer. Fightful Espanol's Luis noticed Microman was being merchandised yesterday, as well as Pimpenala Escarlita. When Microman was in MLW he regularly was a huge merch seller for them.

• There was a report of Tony Atlas being booed for honoring Hulk Hogan at a Limitless show this past week. We're told that he left very frustrated and didn't understand why he would be booed.

• Wrestling Observer has reported that there were people in the independent wrestling industry that "weren't buying it" regarding Kross and Scarlett's contracts with WWE, because their asking price is high. Their price is high, but that's customary for people coming off of WWE TV. Rarely does a person who wrestled on WWE PLE events become available during the same month. Regarding the independent promoter "not buying it," the duo has already been booked and promoted for a number of conventions through the next month. The situation is legitimate. Rumors that higher ups don't know if it's a work aren't true at all. They were emailed and informed of his contract expiration.

TEMPLARIO NOTES after speaking with Fightful Espanol:

• said he was very happy with his run in United Empire, and he reflected on challenging El Desperado for the IWGP Junior Title and being part of Jeff Cobb’s farewell tour.

• Also said he did not know about being part of LIJ’s last match until it was announced on CMLL Informa, says he would cherish the moment. He also reflected on his now alliance with Titan following their feud, and thinks it will rekindle on a future date. Has been satisfied with the chemistry they have, specially after their match against Los Villanos (Villano III Jr. & Hijo del Villano III).

• He also mentioned he would like to face Ikuro Kwon in a singles match with MLW following their previous encounter in their three way against Mistico.

• He considers himself the UNDISPUTED Middleweight Champion after he won both the CMLL World & National Middleweight titles, and was thinking of challenging for the World Historic Middleweight Title (held by the now injured Flip Gordon). He wants to do that again by winning the MLW Middleweight Title to be the UNDISPUTED Middleweight in wrestling.

• Also reflected on his feud against Dragon Rojo Jr. in 2023, where he said it took a toll on him physically. He said he will forever hold it dearly as he headlined the 90th anniversary show with the mask vs mask match against Dragon Rojo Jr. because he missed the 89th anniversary due to injury. He also mentioned he was very happy with his 2025 so far and was looking forward to the Grand Prix and giving more great bouts.

Lio Rush & Action Andretti spoke with Kate from Fightful at Wrestlecon.

They both said that nobody should get to wear their gear, and Lio said that he was disgusted by the possibilities. 

Lio Rush said that he takes pride in being adaptable in the ring, and feels like that makes him one of the best wrestlers in the world. Action Andretti wasn’t a fan of the question and wanted money.  Action Andretti said he learned from Lio Rush how to make money, expand their merch and the like.
