What we've heard and not heard about Karrion Kross & Scarlett

Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s WWE contracts were set to expire this weekend, but not so fast.

As of Monday, Kross and Scarlett had not been offered new deals and were not at WWE Raw. On August 7, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that he believes Kross has got a new contract offer as of now. Since then, many of the people who were talking about it within WWE and close to Kross have gone silent. We can’t confirm a deal has been offered, but we have learned some more. Usually when things go quiet to that degree, something is happening.

Kross, however, told Joey Karni that it isn't accurate, and he hasn't had a new deal offered but wants to come back.

Based on those we spoke to, originally Kross and Scarlett were set to travel to Raw this past Monday, but that was change. Sources close to creative claim there were tentative creative ideas for Kross to continue to be involved in TV moving forward, but didn’t specify what those were.

We’re told that Kross and Scarlett haven’t been prone to outwardly discuss their contract situation unless asked, but claimed to people outside and inside of WWE that no offer had been made of Monday. However, it’s important to note that they also were not told that their contracts would be expiring without an effort of renewal. Typically WWE informs talent well before an expiration that their deal won’t be renewed.

We’ve often said while covering this that it wouldn’t make much sense for Karrion Kross and Scarlett to proclaim when or if they sign a contract, as the buzz and leverage around their expiring deals would make more sense considering their direction for months.

Waiting this long to sign a contract hasn’t been standard for the last year and a half, since the departure of Dan Ventrelle. He had made a bit of a habit of waiting until late to re-sign contracts.

Their original deals are set to expire or would have expired on August 10. They signed three-year contracts in 2022.

There aint nothing "nonsense" about this report.

Fightful Select

All a load of nonsense. They wont be leaving the E.

Mark McDonald

When they wanna keep someone they don’t do all of this. So why don’t they want to re-sign him? He’s pretty popular and the fans want him. Seriously, is there something we’re missing?

Jas

And where would he go? AEW n TNA are both off the table

Ryan Martins

Kross unfortunately was failed by the WWE system twice, he’s needs to explore other promotions. His talents are better used somewhere where he’ll be appreciated. WWE has their favorites and they don’t like to stray from them

Brendan Bdotlion Beal

If he does re-sign, I hope there’s a better plan and that he’s used better going forward than Truth has been. You remember, the last guy the fans were up in arms about leaving 🙄

Todd Silvers

If I were them, I'd look at where the most recent re-signings are before deciding to go back. They'd be a bigger deal elsewhere.
