Brock Lesnar’s return to the company has many asking what changed.

WWE’s legal department signed off on Lesnar’s return in recent weeks. The phrasing that “WWE’s legal team cleared” him being used elsewhere has led to many fans believing that he was cleared of any wrongdoing in connection to the lawsuit of which he’s named, but not a defendant. That isn’t the case, and Grant’s legal team expects more could emerge in discovery.

There are heavy questions to how WWE handled Brock Lesnar since he was first referenced in the lawsuit. Last year around WrestleMania, another reporter was convinced that Lesnar would return at the show. A WWE higher up met with Fightful and said very blatantly that would not be happening any time soon, and didn’t for another 16 months.

All throughout 2024, WWE’s stance when we would ask is that Brock Lesnar was nowhere near returning. To the point that one employee told us that Brock Lesnar was not to be included in any video packages or promo pieces. The only other recent name they were instructed to not include was Vince McMahon. The Brock element of that softened in recent weeks.
