Another top AEW star missing time
Added 2025-07-18 12:00:14 +0000 UTCAnother top AEW talent looks to have time off.
This past week on AEW Dynamite, Don Callis repeatedly referred to Kenny Omega as "dead" after losing his Unified Championship match against Kazuchika Okada. Omega was absent from AEW Dynamite, as well as the Collision tapings, and AEW sources tell Fightful Select he's expected to take time off.
We haven't heard what specifically Omega is taking time off for, or if it means a consecutive or sporadic absence for him. Omega has wrestled ten matches since returning from career and life threatening diverticulitis.
We'll keep you updated as we get more info. This week, Fightful Select revealed Samoa Joe and Will Ospreay would miss time, and Adam Cole revealed he was out of action for the foreseeable future. There were other top stars who had planned for time off, but ended up staying factored into creative.

Looks like August at some point in Australia. Probably be a 2-3 month shoot. Release is set for March 2026 (crazy fast turn around honestly)
