I’ve been curious about the AEW women’s division. They were making great strides in it last year but I was wondering if you’ve noticed a regression over the last few months? Toni and Mercedes did a good piece of business last week but before that it was two straight weeks of Mercedes sitting on commentary eating food while Toni was wrestling. Nothing so far for Athena for all in, 12 minutes of action on a 4 hour show. It seems like unless you’re Toni or Mercedes, you’re not a priority on the booking sheet. Am I off base here? I’m just curious.

Well, right now, Toni Storm and Mercedes Mone are the two top women's stars in the company. I think things are in a holding pattern because the TBS Champion is feuding with the world champion. Marina Shafir and Willow have had creative. Tayjay, Megan Bayne and Penelope have as well. Thunder Rosa and Athena, albeit on their own show. Thekla just debuted. They could certainly do better, but I'd wonder if people feigning outrage said the same when any wrestler sits backstage for segments or does commentary.

Which celebrities and athletes would you like to see in the 2K games in the future?

Lebron James is one that makes a lot of sense. It's very cool for these athletes and celebrities to do something like this now. Back in MY DAY we got Fred Durst, and liked it. It would also be very funny to add Jay Leno or Drew Carey, but the outrage would be insufferable.

What was the hardest part of getting into the business? Did you start cold turkey or did you have some inside friends at the start? Thanks!

There are a lot of hard things. Going to class to learn about reporting wasn't fun, training wasn't easy, and trying to find my niche within a niche was also not easy. I didn't have anyone in the business, and came in cold. I'll do a podcast one day about those early days and how I got more involved. But I reached out to Bill Apter cold and started to write for him.
