AEW's original Motor City Machine Gun plans for All In 2024
Added 2025-06-22 23:05:35 +0000 UTCMotor City Machine Guns signed with WWE in 2024, and quickly became Tag Team Champions. However, them going to AEW wasn't out of the question.
Recently a fan noted that they wished Motor City Machine Guns would have went to AEW. We did confirm last year that Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley had discussions with AEW, but didn't know exactly what the plan would have been. In recent weeks as All In has gotten closer, we've learned what the original internal discussions for the legendary duo were.
While Motor City Machine Guns were in talks with AEW, the company had plans to go towards a Young Bucks vs. Motor City Machine Guns tag team title feud for the big PPV. We're told that at some point in the summer, things went radio silent between the two sides, at which point AEW assumed MCMG were going to WWE. The decision was made to pivot to Young Bucks defending against FTR and Acclaimed at the show instead.
Motor City Machine Guns would sign with WWE and win the WWE Tag Team Titles within a week.

WWE tag division is a joke and MCMG just got destroyed by a bunch of retards. I'm sure they regretting their decision now.

2025-06-23 01:02:00 +0000 UTCI’ll start by saying this ill never tell a wrestler what company to go to WWE was there dream they went they have had success & the Smackdown tag division has been on fire lately & they played a role in that. I think if folks are being honest & not tribal looking at where WWE & AEW tag division are currently & where they were a year ago I think choosing WWE was the right choice for them. Back in 2020 or 2021 I would have wanted them in AEW but over the last 2 years WWE built up a strong division & AEW has taken a huge nose dive thanks to the trios belts & TK lack of focus on the division . Outside of Hurt Syndicate FTR & Young Bucks there won’t a ton of great teams for them to work with in AEW. SpeedJet are a make shift team GYV basically had there momentum killed after they jobbed to the Outrunners & Paragon haven’t been used enough as a tag team & mostly doing trios. I feel with WWE run the feud they had with DIY & SP really was the catalyst for elevation the Smackdown tag division & the titles & I’m excited to see them mix up with other teams on the roster either as faces or heels like Fraxiom New Day War Raiders Creeds Judgement Day USOs Lucha Bros LWO & New Catch Republic. Honestly if I’m Tony Khan after missing out on MCMG & losing the Lucha Bros I’m going out of my way too fix the tag division the main issue is the trios belts messed it up. No more pushing meme teams like the Outrunners here is what you get between 5 to 8 good teams who can go & build from there. I think you should use Hurt Syndicate Young Bucks FTR GYV (book them properly this time) E&C Speedjets Cage & Archer Paragon Hounds of Hell & id sign Dijak & have him & Keith Lee be a tag team. That’s ten legit teams & you can use teams likes M&M & Outrunners as enhancement talents
