Wow did this take longer than I wanted. And if im to be honest I am not super proud of how the linework came out for it. Which is a shame because I really liked the sketch. (and I also realize that I forgot to ink Lace's hands in panel 4) Sadly I am low on time, so while there are other things I want to talk about for this page, It will have to wait until next time. But I love to hear people's thoughts regardless.

Chica in the Kitchen: near complete

Doing a night scene was very interesting, the light from the oven, the blue tone to give it a cool atmosphere. I think I did it pretty well.
There are a few more things I want to do before I call it done. I want to do a little more shading, some growth lines, and add some dialogue, but then after that it will be ready.

This ended up taking me longer than I expected to do. Its just because its my last semester in college and I have a lot to get done. Thankfully I did find the time and I hope to have this at least colored soon. In fact I might get another update for you tonight if not tomorrow depending on how it goes.

Im not totally in love with how I drew Chica's torso in the second panel, but I can't let perfectionism get the better of me, and its just a hard angle to get right.

Toy Chica in the kitchen

A continuation of the very popular Toy Chica in the vents. I was very proud of that one and super happy everyone else seemed to like it. So why not make a second? This time its all booty, and after this I will likely make a third thats Hourglass. Let me know what you think!

One thing I think is very important if you want to make an expansion sequence that is really good, is to have your character actually doing something in it. Weather its them caressing their swelling curves, trying to escape outside before they outgrow the house, or something mundane like waiting for a pizza to cook. It just makes the sequence more lively.
I think im going to do a little bit more before I move on to inking. Maybe add an extra panel or make Toy Chica a little bigger than she is here.

Hornets dream 34 Sketch

The next page of Hornet's dream has been sketched! We return to the family of spiders and the main story, and it turns out that Herrah has set up a small celebration for Hornet! Give it a look and let me know what you think!

One thing about the story that I want to lampshade is the relationship between Herrah and Hornet. Mainly that the two have very different perspectives and don't always understand one another. My version of Herrah is very proud and prideful, but tempered by a sense of royal responsibility and strong code of manners. This makes her sometimes similar to Lace but is more professional overall and not as self absorbed. The biggest thing she wants however is to see the success of her daughter. She loves hornet greatly and has no doubts that she will do great things, but what she thinks is best for her is not the same as what Hornet wants.

Meanwhile Hornet thinks of herself far more as a knight and a warrior than a future queen, which leads her to reject her mothers more feminine interests. Plus she does have feelings of envy regarding her body, no matter how much she wishes to pretend otherwise. This conflict of interests between wanting to be a warrior and craving of a sexier body is Hornets main personal conflict. Of which will be relevant for this next scene.

Ive tried out a new brush for the stone texture. I quite like how it looks. For anyone with procreate it was the "burnt tree" brush from the classic library that I was using.

Alright! cheaters never win is complete! I quite like how this one came out, let me know what you think!

Ive started playing with what colors I use to shade again. Ive started using more subtle shading rather than heavy darks and lights. I think it helps preserve the color of the scene. I might actually make a few more touch ups the more I look at it, but overall there is little left for me to do.

Dear Daisy, Cheaters Never Win

I have inked and colored the newest addition to what I suppose I will call the Mario girls collection. Give it a peak and let me know what you think.

This has been fun to make, can't wait to see it finished. I basically started with this daisy costume because I liked it and the rest of it spawned from there, even when I hit roadblocks. Up next is shading and a few other touches, but I hope to have this done soon.

I think this is possibly the simplest page ive drawn for the comic so far. Its litterally one panel with the game map on top. I think I mentioned before the question of how simple or complex I want to make the pages/how many panels I want to fit, and this is probably the extreme of the simple side.

Mass effect comic part 5: finished!

I quite like how this one turned out, Im not sure I would call it my best work but it certainly is on the higher end. There are a few details I wish to add, but for the most part I am ready to move on to the next part.

Mass effect part 5: lineart

Sheesh talk about delayed, but Im finally able to get this back on track. Even though it took a lot longer than it needed, I actually quite like what ive done with this one. Let me know what you think.

There is a mission in the first Mass effect where this base gets flooded with lava and you have to escape from it. Thus the commissioner had the idea to have the expanded babes fleeing from it. It seems that Tali is no longer the only one under the chip's effect.

Daisy's race

Daisy is celebrating her latest victory, but suspects that she had something in her sleeves, or more specifically under her top!

I had started this a few days back. the first panel wasn't hard to make but the second took me a while to figure out what I wanted. I do really like how this turned out though and Im excited to ink and color it soon.

Also I got to play MarioKart World during new years eve. It was fun but I don't plan on getting my own copy or a switch 2 any time soon. The costumes are great tho!

Hornets dream Page 33

Surprise! Two posts in one day! And were introducing a new character! Meet Sterg, a member of the new generation of Stags in the rebuilding Hollownest.

This was fun but hard to draw, I pretty much started with the bottom two panels and then had to fit the others in somehow. The visual of Lace's ass stuck in the stag's chair was too funny for me to pass up.

The sketch is not complete, I have some refining to do before I can move on to lineart. But I wrote the dialogue and wanted to share it anyway. Plus I like the design I made for Sterg. He's not an important character by any means but I want to showcase the ways Hollownest has changed and rebuilt following the defeat of the radiance.

Hornet's dream 32 Dialogue

The Dialouge for page 32 is in. Lace seems to be very upset. I wonder why?

I usually have an order that I use when adding things to a page. Sketch, ink, color, text. But I've done Sketch test, ink, color before and I think its a better way to do it. The dialogue here was not too hard to write, I just wanted to write Lace as being petty and unfiltered. Since the map covers half the page this will be easy to finish. So expect another update not long from now.

For this scene I tried to look up the actual stag station to use as reference, but surprisingly there are not a lot of good images of this spot floating around. I mention this because I think it would be fun to integrate more specific locations from the games and with better accuracy.

While I can't say I am totally happy with it, I just have to throw in the towel and call it finished. Its been a while since ive finished a page and Im not getting any younger. Ive done a little more for the background and added the dialogue.

On an unrelated note, I am fighting the Pinstress in act 3 atm, and she is a bitch of a mini boss! If I add her to the comic what figure should I give her?

Samus Mini Comic Cover

I can finally call the Samus Mini comic done! And just in time for the end of my fall semester. I AM NOW OFFICIALLY ON WINTER BREAK! Which means you can expect me to be uploading more stuff for the next month! I would like to apologize for the continual drought here. I just had too many important things to deal with to keep up with what I wanted here. But I can now do as much as I can to make up for time! So for my Hornet fans stay toned!

Speaking of, I finally got to act 3!

The cover is nothing super special, but I think I did do a good job with it. I tried to shade the title by hand, which im not sure I did the best job, but I might just have to let that go. I do like how i drew samus here, I think its my better works over all.

Hornet's dream 31 progress

Hornet's dream 31 is nearing completion! I just want to work more on the background and get in the dialogue, then it will be complete!

I think I might also redo Herrah's expression, its not giving me the overjoyed emotion I was looking for. Ive also started using a more simplified shading technique for ghost and Quirrell, using white and the soft light setting instead of hand picking colors like I do for Hornet and Herrah. Im realizing how much space I have in the bottom panel, so Im thinking of adding hornet and Herrah hugging in the background. For things ive already added, I drew Herrah resting her hand on Hornet's breast, I think I did a good job with the squish.

I mostly have in mind what Im going to do with the dialogue, so that I also want to add soon. Im not 100% happy with how I did herrah's expression/face. I anticipate that it will take me a few pages to figure out how I want to draw her. So thats another thing I might change for the next update.

Samus and the BoomBox page 4 update!

The last page of the samus mini comic is nearly compete! I hope it is worth the wait!

I don't have much left to add. Just some more dialogue really. I am pretty happy with how this has come out, especially the holes in samus' zero suit.

First of all, METROID PRIME 4 ONLY 19 DAYS AWAY! And apparently we now have new characters that we get to meet. There is no shortage of discourse about this (on videos will low viewership if I may add) and while I can see the concern, I personally will reserve my judgment until I get my hands on the game. I bought my switch for 2 reasons, Smash Ultimate and Metroid Prime 4, its insane how long its taken for this game to come out.

So I did a few things. First I made the background into a grey cyan. I played a little with the hue (color) but tried not to change it too dramatically. Making the bg more purple of course didn't work since Hornet and Herrah already have a lot of purple in their design, so cyan was really the only choice.

Ive also added a little extra dialogue in the last panel. Mainly to make it a little more clear that Hornet's remark is more sarcastic. There are other things I intend to add before I post it, however I don't intend to go too crazy with the details here. Im trying to at least be somewhat productive with this series after all.

Hornets dream 30, color

Making good progress on page 30, I might have it complete pretty soon!

I meantioned before that Herrah's colors were giving me issues, but I think I understand whats actually happening. Its less the color of her cloak than it is how much its blending into the background. This shade of blue is ruining the color ballance, which is a shame since ive been using this blue for the caves for multiple pages. I think I will change the color of the background into something that doesn't eat the blue of Herrah's cloak, but the continuity will bug me.

I will most likely add an extra panel here for more story, but once again it is a mostly simple page. But I came up with the detail where we can see where they are on the hollownest map, and its something I really like.

The next few pages will mostly be build up for future events and Lace booty. So I need some fun poses. Any ideas?

YES I have finally gotten a sketch for page 31 that I like. Its simple and not super detailed. But in all honesty I am just happy to be making any kind of progress.

One thing I saw on the latest post on deviantart was someone meantioning how Ghost's horns got bigger with each page. And they were kind of right. Its mostly because I didn't like the thin horns all too much, but I do think ive gone overboard in recent pages. So ive toned them down for this one, do these look better?

Last Judge Practice

Another character I am considering adding as Last Judge. Its just a sketch atm but I will ink and color her like I did god tamer.

I will confess that I drew this to try and shack off some rust. My senior year has kept me from the comic for a while and its proving to be a little difficult to get back into it. So Im hoping that this will get me back into it, provided that my reading and writing class doesn't make a stink of it (I have to read 200 pages and write 1000 words for a chapter draft in one week, for one class)

Anyway last judge wasn't too hard to draw. I had to figure out how I wanted to integrate her into my style, of which included making her more shaply and shrinking the helmet a little. I plan to pay tribute to the top heavy figure of the game with a different kind of top heavyness in the comic. I might adjust the design as I continue, mainly raising the aforementioned top heavyness.

Hornets dream 29. Herrah color test

Im doing a little more work on hornet 29 while im getting Herrah's colors settled. Ive seen the sugestion to try Maroon for her headdress, and ive also done a little extra shading work for the origonal blue. Let me know what you think.

In my mind, I think the red is a little too much. At first the blue wasn't totally settled for me, however looking at it more I think im liking it a little better. However what I could also try is to adjust the colors of herrah's body, of which already had a little more of a redish tint to set her apart from Hornet. I could turn that the other direction and that might fit better with the red so it isn't overwhelming.

Hornets Dream 29 color + shading

Hornet's dream 29 is nearly complete! there are just a few adjustments and bits of clean up I want to do before I call it ready.

I will say tho, im not 100% happy with the colors ive settled on for Herrah. I think its the blue of the cloak that holding it back, but im not totally sure.

but aside from that, I am at least happy to have gotten the chance to continue this comic. I hope that this will continue without further distractions, but I know live is never that easy. Regardless, your support will always make this passion project of mine worth it! Thank you all so much!!

Samus and the boombox page 3 complete (almost)

The Next page in the Samus Mini comic is complete. Mostly. There are a few more things I want to do but ill talk about them below.

So I just said that I was going to post again today, but this is actually something separate. Ive had this for a fair while now, but something about it feels incomplete. Its hard to put my finger on it, but this was the page that I think I did the best sketch for, so it makes me a little sad that Im having a hard time with the rendering. Im going to keep working on it, but I also want to move forward and get out from being stuck. I know at the vary least it feels very static, so more movement lines and sound waves are in order I suppose.

So I offer it to you, what do you think I could add to make it better?

Sheesh this took way too much time. I would like to apologize to everyone here for the sudden pause since my last post. A few things came up and it kept me away for a while. I won't go into details, but it was important for me.
