Update (04/01/23)

Happy New Year, everyone!

I hope you all had a great holiday period and enjoyed what time off you had. Admittedly I spent a bit of it bracing myself for importing the Texas project into Gamemaker 2, which I knew would be long, gruelling, bug-filled and brutal...

Anyway, long story short I did it today and it ended up taking like... five minutes. Turns out Gamemaker's really good about seamlessly importing GM1 projects, and even the camera zooms, which I know are handled differently in GM2, all still work perfectly. I'm utterly shocked that it has been so easy after putting this task off for so long, but hey, that's life.

Anyway, with that all imported, I'm ready to start optimising the Texas project, hopefully enabling more people to play, and also adding a big fat rat fight to the game.

Expect to see some more Molly in the coming days!

Texas in Trouble Part 5

And here it is. The final fight. Texas in Trouble can now be played through, from the start to the credits, as a complete game! I hope you all enjoy it (and can play it...) and let me know if you encounter any bugs.

However, just because the game is complete doesn't mean I'm done. As many of you may have noticed, this game is absolutely horrendously optimized, and many laptops may not even be able to play it due to the ludicrous gluttony for RAM it has. This is due to the version of Game Maker I am using, and now that the game is complete, I intend to import it to Game Maker 2 and do everything I can to optimise the hell out of it.

And at the same time, I am also going to be working on a fun addition to the game. A secret boss fight I've wanted to do for a while. I imagine everyone here's already seen what I've posted related to that, but I personally don't consider this a complete version of Texas in Trouble. That is still to come.

In any case, I hope you all enjoy!

Text Update + Demo Info

Hey everyone!

Hope everyone's having a peaceful, stress-free time in the runup to Christmas. As some of you may have seen, I have just posted a new demo. I want to clarify here before anyone feels the need to jump up to the Sheriff Tier that the new demo adds no new content. The only change has been that Macroxxie functionality has been added to the main menu, and all her animations are now in the gallery.

That means that all that's left is to get the final cutscenes and credits done! Obviously there's still the Molly fight to go, but I think for the most seamless workload, I'll begin the process of updating Texas in Trouble to Gamemaker 2 while I work on Molly sprites, as I predict that that could be a lengthy and painful process. But, we should be getting Molly sprites the whole time, so hopefully that helps ease the burden a little.

Anyway, we'll see if I can get the last update out before the end of the year. It's unlikely, but hey! It could be a Christmas miracle.

Gallery Update Demo (Updated)

Edit: Fixed a few bugs with the gallery, and made it so that winning the Macroxxie fight ACTUALLY unlocks the Macroxxie content in the gallery. Sorry about that! 


Hey there! Sorry things have been a bit quiet, I've just been coding my heart out on this main-menu stuff.

So, no new content in this one, but all of Macroxxie's animations have been added to the gallery (and 'gallery' is now spelt correctly...) and the level select, continue button and game over gallery have all been updated to work with her.

In addition, I've added a little bit of functionality to lock/unlock levels with the F5-8 keys. F11 will also completely reset your progress, and F12 will unlock everything.

Next up is the final cutscene and credits. Have a nice holiday period, everyone!

Back From Break

Hey everyone!

As those who were in stream may have seen, I am back from my break and back into the swing of things, having today added the Macroxxie fight to the level select, and made all of her icons for the gallery! I'll be working to get the gallery stuff done Wednesday as well, then do a bit more Molly work on Friday. We are back to normal now.

Also, excitingly, I have a super top secret collab project in the works. Can't say much about it at the moment, only that it's going well at the moment, and may have posted an associated teaser to Twitter just this morning.

Anyway, I hope you are all well. It's good to be back, now let's get this game finished up!

Patreon Suspended for November

Hi everyone!

Starting today I'm going to be away for three weeks, a little break while my friend from the UK visits. As such, I have suspended Patreon's billing for the 1st of November. No-one will be charged on November 1st. The next billing cycle will be December 1st, and I will be solidly back to work at that point. Streams will resume on November 10th (A Thursday, so it will be a Quantum Knight stream. You can expect the first Texas post on the 11th).

Charge up front is still enabled, so I would advise that anyone reading this who is thinking of pledging hold off until I get back, as you will still be charged on your initial pledge.

I will also be predominantly out of contact for this time, but will answer any problems, messages and queries when I get back.

Molly's Lair WIP

A sunken church sunk far below the mud, now turned to a more sinister purpose. The lair of the witchy shadow-rat, Molly.

This will be the arena you fight Molly in, though it is still unfinished at the moment. I still need to add a door to the left wall, a whole bunch of rats watching the fight, and a huge church organ in the gap on the right, being played by one of the rats.

But, given I'm going to be away for three weeks, that will have to wait. Have a good time, everyone! I'll be back before you know it.

Update + Suspending Patreon This Month

Hey everyone!

I hope all those who have played the demo have enjoyed it. I've fixed the few bugs and complaints that I've gotten so far, and just need to investigate one more possible bug before I upload a fixed version on Wednesday. After that, I'll start on the secret boss fight, and work on the cutscene and gallery content at the same time.

However, a slight delay to that plan is that I will be gone from the 17th of October until the 9th of November, a three-week absence as a friend from overseas is coming to visit. As such, I will be suspending my Patreon page so that nobody gets charged on the 1st of November. I just wouldn't feel right about it. But just be aware that I will be gone for that period, so there will be a three-week gap without any updates.

That's all for now! With any luck we may get to see a sprite for our secret boss sometime this week...

Macroxxie Full Demo

And here it is! The finished demo of the Macroxxie fight, with all of her grabs, KOs, and sounds thereof! I think it should relatively bug free, as I've fixed the bugs from last time, not really changed much, and done my share of testing, but as always let me know if there are any issues and I'll get them fixed up.

I hope you all enjoy!

P.S. If you have issues running the game, try going to the 'options' file in the game folder and changing some of the 0s to 1s. People have reported some success with that.

Update (16/09/2022)

Howdy everyone!

So, I have just finished exporting a playtest version of the Macroxxie fight which I will be sending off to my testers. My plan now is to add the sound effects for the new animations to the fight over the coming week, fix any bugs that they report and, with any luck, be able to release the full demo of the Macroxxie fight by next Saturday!

Thanks for bearing with me during this little dry spell. I think my plan going forwards will be to alternate coding and animating streams so that uploads will be more consistent. After Macroxxie's done I'll need to do a fair amount of coding for her gallery page, as well as the ending cutscenes, credits, level select, game over gallery, etc etc. But my plan is to work on those and the secret boss fight (Yes, I have decided to do that) at the same time. So you should still be getting at least weekly sprite uploads, while coding progresses at the same time.

Update (26/08/22)

Hi everyone!

Just letting you know that as of today, I am back to the coding portion of Macroxxie's fight, this time coding in all of her fetish moves. It's actually off to a pretty promising start, with some code interactions that I thought might be a little fiddly and time consuming working smoothly, and the general system for how her grabs will work already in place without any issues. I'm shocked, frankly.

Which is all to say that there'll be the usual drought of animations for a little bit while I get this all coded together, but that I don't expect it to take *too* long this time. Certainly nowhere near as long as the last coding drought before Macroxxie's initial demo.

Also, I will be away from the 31st-4th, so no streams on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday next week. We'll see how much I can get done on Monday alone!
