So, after an ugly long absence, I am here again. Yes, I had to disappear for a much longer time than I planned, but these are family matters, and they, as you understand, are the most important.
In general, work on the game continues. On my discord server, you could see some illustrations of the current progress (and if you haven't joined yet, what are you waiting for? :)) I will not bore you with more details, I will just say that I will try to make all of you a New Year's gift :)

Hey.
As I already said in Discord, this month I will have very little time to work with the game. I need to go away for a couple of weeks on family business and I don’t have the opportunity to take my computer with me. In general, development will slow down for a couple of weeks.
I hoped to have time to release a demo version before my departure, but alas, something still remains unfinished, and the game in the form in which it is now will not be of interest, since it will be more similar to the previous demo, where you can only wander by location and nothing else can be done.
Currently, the main work on the development of the demo has been completed, it remains only to link the parts of the game into a single whole. However, this requires a couple more days, which I do not have, and therefore the release of the game will have to be postponed for another two or three weeks before my return. But then the demo will finally see the light of day, and that's absolutely for sure.

Actually, I have a small question for you. I always seriously think about optimizing the game so that those of you who do not have very powerful computers can still play with comfort, and not at 15 fps :) On the other hand, you perfectly understand that any optimization without sacrificing quality has a certain limit. I want to understand this limit, and for this I need to determine for myself the average computer of my players.
In order not to shower you with questions about your systems, average fps and some other details, I planned to build a small data collection module into the game that would send information to my server. However, I know that some people may react negatively to such things. Hence my question - do you agree to the presence of such a module in the demo version of the game?
For my part, I can guarantee that this module is not a virus or spyware, it will not affect personal, and indeed no data. All he needs is information about the performance of your computer and how the game behaves on it.

Although in the films we did not see a single sign or sign on the streets of the settlements of Tatooine, as you understand in reality, they probably would have been. In games, they are all the more necessary to indicate certain points of interest in a location, so that you do not have to scour the streets for half an hour in search of some kind of little shop :)
So - here are some different signposts, made in the style of the streets of Tatooine. They will still be slightly improved, but you can already understand from them (I hope) what kind of place is here.

I am again with a question to all of you who are not indifferent to the fate of the project :)
The release of the game is undergoing final testing and the last additions of some functions. Among them is Shana's personal ship. At the moment, you will not be able to move to other planets on it, since not a single location from other planets has been created yet :) However, the ship can serve you as a recreation and recuperation base, warehouse, crafting point and some other needs. By this time, all these functions have already been implemented in software, it remains only to add the ship model itself to the game.
I once demonstrated here my chosen model of the ship for Shana - it was the Corellian freighter YT-1760, a close relative of the Millennium Falcon. This ship meets all the necessary overall technical requirements and the actual era in which the game takes place.

However, just recently I came across another ship, which is also suitable in all respects and I also liked it. This is also the Correlian transport YG-4210.

Personally, I like both ships and I just can't decide which one to use in the game. This means that everything will be decided by your opinion, as potential players :)

Hello there.
While working on the plot of the game, I suddenly thought, why not divide the plot into several intertwined lines? Initially, Shana was conceived as a mercenary, but in the world of Star Wars, a mercenary is a rather broad concept. Some of you, perhaps, would like to see her as a smuggler, and some would like to see her as a pirate, for example :)
Well, why not? :) As a result, now I am working on dividing the plot into three main lines - a bounty hunter, a smuggler and a pirate. In fact, the basis of the game's plot will not change, however, in the gameplay there will be some variations inherent only in a particular chosen path. For example, some tasks will be available only to the hunter, others to the smuggler, and so on. Also additional replics may appear in dialogs, depending on the path of development you have chosen. Well, and a lot more. In fact, you can go through the same story in three rather different ways. I think it will be interesting.
Another point related to this change is the personalized costumes for each type of character. I made quite a few different pieces of clothing for Shana, many of them you saw in the demo, but it all looks awkward. Therefore, I made changes to the clothing system and now, depending on the story path you choose, Shana will wear only a specific costume. Also, as the game progresses, various upgrades and improvements for it will be available to you, so do not think that you will have to observe the same character image throughout the game :)
Well, and as a bonus, you can see in the presented video an almost finished costume of a bounty hunter. Reminds someone, right? :) Soon you will see also the costumes for the smuggler and the pirate. And, after waiting a little longer, you can finally play the first playable demo version of the game :)

It seems like I haven't been here for a long time... But, life is not fair and again I have unexpected delays on a project. Nevertheless, work continues and a playable version will appear... well, in the coming weeks :) I know, you are already tired of waiting, believe me, Im too :) There is still a little more.
For dessert - some Mandalorian armor :) This is one of the suits that Shana can wear in the game. It's not finished yet, but it's fixable :)

I have to report the delay in the release of the game and the suspension of my work in general. The reason for this is sad - a few days ago my uncle was admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of peritonitis, was operated on, was in intensive care for three days and died today...
I never knew my own father, he and my mother separated even before my birth, and my uncle essentially replaced him for me. This is a huge loss...
So I won't be able to work on the project in the near time, so in the next couple of weeks there will most likely be no activity on the page. I hope you understand me.

In many open-world games, where it takes a long time to reach any place in a location on foot, in addition to various vehicles, there are also fast travel systems that allow you to instantly teleport to the desired (or somewhere nearby) point. In some games, such systems are plot-based (teleport, magic portal, and so on), in others they are not, but in both cases they can significantly reduce the travel time across a large location.
Actually, you already know all this, don't you? :) The question I want to ask you is whether such teleports are needed in my game? I note right away that yes - some locations will be quite large. The SW Universe does not have technologies for instant movement within the planets, and therefore it may just be a gameplay tool to help the player. But, nevertheless - is it needed?

I continue to bring Shana's appearance in the form of various races back to normal. This time, I reworked the head of the togruta, made it more accurate compared to the previous version, and also slightly brought the general view closer to the head of Ahsoka from the second season of The Mandalorian.
