Plans for nearest releases

The soonest thing that will come out is the look I've teased recently. She is ready, she just needs to be packed and I'm working on a scene. Then there will be an update to a scene, as usual, many contenders right now so I will see which one could get not only some new anims, but also get some of my latest QoL developments as well.

I've shown you the prototype on the picture before as a neat trick I used to reveal the hair from under the hood. What I didn't tell you is that there was a lot of work done on assets, environment building and costume tweaking. Most likely the next Major release will be me pushing this scene. I have some voiced intro dialogue planned, simple gameplay & narrative, 15 anims to do (this is a draft, there will be less, I will choose the best ideas for initial release). There will be 3 choices you could make that will unlock certain type of interaction with her.

As for the narrative, well you are a servant to a noblewoman escorting her through the wilderness in times of need. But an unexpected find to be taken advantage of may let you overcome the social status barrier between you two....

In short: Look very soon, update to a scene soon, new scene on schedule.

[Major Update] Russian Banya Experience

  • 5 new playable poses + 2 long transitions between rooms. The new poses take more of an erotic angle rather than hard pornographic. The lounge poses will be predominantly that.

  • new clothing combinations.

  • rain particles that can be seen in the windows.

  • restructure of the "No tutorial" start into pose-switcher type of gameplay. If you decide to play in tutorial mode, you will enter pose switcher mode after you finish it. Pose switcher has separate playable pose pools for each of the two rooms.

  • update to Liz & the male.

  • clothing for the male (swim trunks) depending on the pose picked.

  • voice acting for the tutorial mode.

  • new body-related plugins such as ExtraGenitals by Mestre and BetterBends by Skynet.

  • switch to VAMMoan 2

  • reduction of UI clutter. Majority of atoms are set to Hidden.

  • fix for some bugs and mis-design, such as wall assets visible through the windows where they shouldn't be; talk POI moving too fast to click it comfortably etc.

Last Banya progress update

  • finished animation

  • scripted entering the steam room which I forgot to do previously

  • scripted new poses & pose UI

  • scripted male shorts

All that remains is voice acting and some sfx - that is what I'm going to focus on tomorrow.

So the main thing was the re-scripting. Previously to add a pose I would have to add a few logic bricks, weave them into like a dozen of already existing triggers, create dialogue for it etc. This made adding content to the scene extremely expensive on time. Now my hands are no longer tied.

The strategic goal for future Banya updates is to fill it with playable content before adding actual meaningful gameplay to it. So that there are enough rewards or outcomes of your actions for the scene to choose from.

This is a massive amount of work (at least on my scale) done for this update and that's why I needed Major release "slot" for it.

Things already planned that couldn't make it in this time:

  • per-pose POV hands options.

  • optimization of collisions. This is potentially a huge performance boost.

  • new steam vfx.

  • bodylanguage gaze and slap integration.

  • switch appearances through UI.

  • integrate legacy vammoan 1 voices.

  • more poses, of course!

Finishing on Banya poses

One is fully animated, one is yet to be done. Added betterbends and auto throat bulger plugins to the female. I really enjoy how squatting now looks with betterbends morphing the thighs and shins!

Remains to do:

  • script the poses in

  • add & script swimtrunks on & off for male

  • script UI for poses

  • add voice acting

I'm aiming for the 7th.

This Patreon has for the first time reached 300 concurrent paid subscribers with nearly 1200 subscribers total! I remember that when I released Cultivation I had just 15 subscribers and I am very happy that over time my work has sparked more interest. My special thanks to those who sticked with this Patreon since the beginning!

As I've said before, VAM is just a hobby for me so I have fairly limited time for it, however, the more it grows, the more time I can justify (to my loved ones) doing this. I used to release just a couple of poses per month, now we are at steady Major & Minor release per month worth of content and most of the time much more than that.

Doing later releases I've learned new things that I can now utilize in coming scenes for you guys, mainly I have been mastering keyframe animations for when my usual puppeteering won't work. This will allow more creative freedom, specifically transitions and complex full-body motions. I still restrain myself from doing too much with it as I always aim to make sure you guys get animations not that much worse than a mocap. Other things I've developed you could see in my [Prototype] posts.

As for future things, I've got more ideas than I've got time, so I'm not short on that and we've got new tech coming to us overtime and then even more when VAM2 comes out! You will see many scenes from me as well as there is a lot of room for updates to all-time favorites.

Lastly, I usually take a 3 week vacation in July, but this time I won't. I will be here with you, and most likely I will take my vacation next Spring instead.

Banya update progress

  • everything has been rescripted! You can start either with tutorial or with pose switcher, and after you've played through the tutorial and she leaves the steamroom, the scene automatically switches to pose switcher mode. This was a lot of work! But many found having to do a lot of things before they got to "action" and at the same time this is the base upon which I will eventually build this scene to have actual gameplay.

  • fixed a couple of bugs, old and new

Now time for voice acting and more poses! Next time I will have screenshots or videos to show :)

I've decided to postpone her whisking the player and instead focus a bit more on content inside the lounge part of the scene. We can have her switch rooms, but 1 room has 12 poses, and the other has 1. This has to be addressed.

Banya progress report

  • half the poses have been re-scripted to work in pose-switcher structure. I know this isn't anything fancy to report, but Banya is a very complex scene and thay's a lot of work that has been done.

  • remaining goals: re-script poses for pose switcher, script her leaving and entering, script transition from tutorial to pose switcher, add at least 3 new poses.

[Sketch] Oceans Deep

Ever done it in an underwater relaxation pod? :)

I have lots of ideas about background sea creatures to make this truly a memorable experience. I also want 3 people in the scene and that will be hard to achieve. So far I'm 67 FPS in VR with just the 2 girls and my aim is to be 60 FPS with a guy added. So I need to find more ways to optimize the scene.

[Update] Bath with MILF

A small QoL update:

  • added loading Appearance Presets via UI & plugins. This will automatically re-apply the scene's clothing preset and disable Person's bottom physics mesh.

  • added genital gloss clothing item.

P.S. this month's Minor release is In the Tent update with 3 new poses (2\3 done).

[WIP] Banya update progress

  • added 3 quick clothing variations

  • further improved some keyframes in transition animations

  • scripted temporary light toggles depending on where the player is

  • added rain particles that can be visible through the windows

  • scaled and moved the wall assets so that they don't interfere with the window view

  • updated Liz to her latest version

I have noticed that the scene performs poorer than a 2p scene usually would. This is likely caused by lots and lots of cubes and CUAs colliding with each other. There is a fix though - with CheesyFX's plugin I can tell each object with what to collide with and with what not to. But it's a lot of work - there are a lot of objects and with each I need to go individually to determine what should it not collide with. Not for this update, but rather for the next.

This update is about rescripting the scene into pose switcher, voice acting, more animations.

Right now though I will focus on making this month's Minor release - a scene update. A small QoL Bath update that will come out soon doesn't count btw.

P.S. forgot to mention that I've also made the smoke particles more transparent, so they are not as cartoony anymore. Same as I did in Bath. Still figuring out how I can make more realistic steam particle effect, but there is no rush. It can be in another update.

[WIP] Banya transitions full

She will transition from Smoking into another room into Idle and vice versa. Still rough around the edges, so some keyframes require polishing. But the majority of work for these animations is done!

Whichever specific gameplay mechanics I will eventually come up with, my goal is to project a sense of her agency. So the player should be playing around her rather than ordering her. I think this is a lot of fun if I can pull it off. Her transitioning between rooms on her own is very important to support cases where player makes "wrong" choices and pisses her off. I of course could just fade out and warp her into another room, but it would be so confusing to the player without awkward subtitles explaining where did she go. Visualizing is so much better.

[Prototype] Timelined CUA characters with colliders

Ok guys this one is actually pretty big. The video demonstrates a CUA male with timelined physical rig, animated to have sex with a vam character.
With proper setup and hopefully, once mastered, less janky, we can do environments with orgies, foursomes and just CUA characters with custom Timeline animations. So many possibilities with no performance impact! This completely redefines how I see Project NPC now, but I will get to using it only after I'm done with this month's releases.

About scene update plans

Russian Banya Experience:

I want to make it into a Major Release update. This means it should get more content than usual updates do. But the main thing is re-scripting it. People find advancing through poses a slog (and it's even more so for me to actually script it), all this doesn't amount to much gameplay (making meaningful choices).

So currently I want to re-script it to regular pose-switcher type, while leaving all the old scripting inside the tutorial playthrough (which will transition to pose-switcher). All this is temporary, because I want to figure out what the gameplay would be, locking you out of poses until you do X, Y and Z is easy, but it's no fun for the player. I've got a lot of interactables in place, but they need to be used to make meaningful choices. And there needs to be enough animations so that there will be enough choices to pick from.

As for content, things planned for sure are voice acting, transition animations (get in, get out), a segment where she whisks the player (so the reverse of what we have now) that will transition into some oral action. What other animations I will add in the update I will see later.

Movie Night:

The main limiting factor of the scene is that the animations are triggered per-girl, meaning I had to be very careful choosing animations so that the girls don't spawn inside each other. I believe I've done everything I could with this approach, but also if you analyze the poses, one girl is much more pro-active than the other, because I couldn't have both for reasons mentioned above.
So I plan to add animations that would conflict with others, but with a trigger that would prevent you from choosing them if there is a conflict, and vice-versa disabling the ability any conflicting animations of the other girl to be chosen while this animation is active. This is actually not that hard to script. This will allow me to have much more freedom with animations.

Other than that I have already worked on some QoL stuff for the scene some time ago, can't recall what exactly stayed, but with things I've learned with some latest scenes some QoL additions will be coming to many scenes when I have spare time.

To summarize, Banya update is likely the next big thing, Movie Night will come some time later (not as Major Release). Other scenes will get some QoL (Bath is already implemented and will be released soon).

[Preview] Scene snippet #3 - A Spy Date

You've seen it as a video in some of my scenes. It would be just a doggystyle pose, but the forces and the expressions work so well together with the animation that I find it a very exciting little scene and keep coming back to it. Now I've cleaned it up up to some quality and will release it as a little snippet before this month's scene update.

It's pretty much impossible to commission a mocap so I guess it's time to put things I've learned in Passion's Bite to use and try to keyframe it myself.

Need to have full enter and exit animations to feel happy about it. In the example above I haven't touched upon fingers yet.

Things learned in this scene.

I have been asked by Sex in Vegas enthusiasts to add "climax" there. To witch I replied, that I prefer that particular scene to remain as easy to add poses to as possible (as it is essentially just a collection of poses) and adding "climax" would triple the animation cost for each release.

However, the BodyLanguage method I used in the latest scene can be used there without increasing the costs. Since it just operates with triggers and I trigger Timeline speed globally, I think I've found a way to implement climaxing in Sex in Vegas that would not break my intentions for the scene.

Of course having separate, unique climax animations for each pose would be better, but I simply can't afford it. As of right now, I would need to do 60+ animations for just stuff that is already there. Hopefully, BL climaxing will be sufficient and is sure to come sometime in an update to Vegas. And potentially other scenes that don't have HQ animated climaxing yet.

Progress update #7

  • finished soundscape: all interactable objects have sfx and also chains during animation. I didn't know if I could pull it off with the chains but it turned out believable enough!

  • added voice acting to dialogue.

  • additional scripting to fix bugs during preliminal playtests.

The scene is ready. It has 6 playable animations aside from the intro stuff. Tomorrow I will playtest it some more and release it!

This finishes pretty much all scripting and makes the scene fully playable. Now just need some final touches regarding soundwork and misc. :
