  • It is now possible to go to the area past the first boss. It is reasonably long, but it is a dead end though.

Hope everyone is doing well, more to come, I have some enemies like goblins that haven't got all their animations yet so they will be in the next release. The menu isn't finished, but I hope the game feels a closer to a metroidvania with its addition.

I have been trying to fix a lot of minor details to make the game feel more polished, it has been over a year now, and the game looks nothing like it used to be. Now I just have to try and add more content! Thank you again for your support.

GoS Diary 0.27

Hello everyone, thank you for all those who have continued to support me. My hope is that this next months update from here will be the most exciting of all. The new style of displaying characters really has improved everything, and my happyness in creating the game. So this next one will continue along this road of polishing the game.

I have also posted the above animation to show one of the WIP boss animations, this specific is it falling from the sky and landign on the ground, making everything bounce around.

The goals are

  • Finally finishing the boss fight
  • New design of the main character
  • New main menu
  • New soundtrack for different areas.
  • Adding much needed sounds
  • Finishing the Sorceress and the Handmaiden.

I have also been working on an A2 poster for the game. But I have to make sure it's perfect before release. With all the bells and whistles.

  • The Boss is more attractive and has been updated to the more newer style
  • Added Handmaiden currently just the image
  • Redid the sorceress to newer style and new animations (currently can't be killed in combat)
  • Redid the dungeon look and background (background was a huge job)
  • New are "The Faith" where the handmaiden is
  • New explosion for the sorceress

I understand that it has been a while since the last update, but hopefully this update can show a fraction of the work I'm putting in, I believe the next update will be the largest. Many animations have been made but just have to be fixed in the code, or the set isn't finished, rendering them useless as themselves. The boss has a great new animation but its not 100% done and couldn't make it into this version.

I also unfortunately lost two animations from Windows restarts but they will be done by the end of this month, I plan on making this next months update the one that can string all my hard work together. There has been a lot of work that can't make it into this months version.

GoS Diary 0.26

Hey everyone, someone said they wanted monthly post on the next update of the game halfway through the month so here is the first one.

Thanks to the recent votes it showed possibly full support for this update in Animation style and new designs, this has genuinely been fantastic so far as you can hopefully see from the above animation. It feels like I'm sculpting with clay instead of lemons and tomatoes, the animations are cleaner, clearer, better and I'm far more happy with them.

This upcoming update will include

  • New sorceress sprites and animations
  • Brand new enemy with animations and attacks
  • Redesign of the dungeon
  • Brand new area and tiles
  • Further development of other areas

There are also some old sprites from the update I didn't release last month, because they will eventually be reworked again. But from memory they are

  • New animated bandit scene
  • Better ("Defeated white liquid" expulsion animation) (*strange patreon posting guidelines)
  • Baelice Jumping attack

Those are the plans for this months release, if I finished them early then there may be more to the upcoming update

The Future of the Game

I will shortly send the next update of the game. But would like to ask a question for everyone since you are all invested in my project. There are aspects of my game I really like (Environment Art, Landscapes), and there are some that I don't and lately I've been trying to think about ways to fix this. There are two main issues I have been thinking about.

1: Is the generic nature of all the characters, most of the were all designed very quickly and honestly, I don't like them at all, the trolls, the sorceress, they aren't something I'm very happy with, as someone who finds meaning in non generic art.

2: Is the way I built the characters, it's hard to explain but, I think I chose a way of displaying the characters (In game, not the scenes) in the worse way possible, that makes it extremely difficult to create new, well done animations, it's to do with the black outlines on most of their limbs, If I was to move forward, I think it would be better to have the outline done in post and not for each limb, but the character. It has made the animation tedious and it actually makes a lot of characters look terrible.

Possible Solution: What I would like to do, is redesign the way I make the game going forward (Not to waste time of redoing the current state of the game) Because that won't make anyone very happy, but to try and fix things as the game goes on. And possibly fix older designs slowly, however, it may mean that some of the scenes won't look anything like the sprites for the changed designs.

And lastly, I think I would like to change the main characters, because right now, it's really just a random girl in a suit of armour, there's no character to it, no instant identification. This is why I'm bringing this up, because obviously it opens up a lot of problems. If I am to do the change, I think it's mostly the armour/clothing I would like to change, rather than her body, maybe thinner in the belly, with the new animation (which is so subtle, I don't think people will even notice) I should hopefully be able to remake all the animations much quicker, and easier than the slow snail pace I had to with the last set, also, they should look much better.

There was so much wasted potential I would like to fix with the game, But I would like to hear what people think first. Because it might not go ahead that way if people are opposed to it.

Garden of Sin v0.21

Hey everyone I hope all are doing well! I'm very happy that people are still supporting me and this project

I understand that this games most polarizing feature was the weight of the main character, I can't say I will change everything polarizing about the game because, it actually takes a lot of work, the pixel sprites I'm using in this game are massive, it takes a ton of work to create an animation, so I can't really invest huge amounts of time into changing such large sprites

What I mean is that, very rarely will you find a pixel art game with characters with pixel sizes as large in this one, so it does slow down the speed of which the game gets made but I think it's probably what you want in a hentai game, possibly. I do have new animation software that should most likely help I just need to learn it a bit first.

That being said, I have reduced the weight of the characters belly significantly, there will still be some parts where she is still very fat and they will be changed in ongoing updates. I will be keeping her ass and boobs at the size they are however.

I understand that a lot of you want finished scenes, so I will try and get some characters scenes done in next updates.

Hey everyone I understand that this is a couple days late but I hope it will make sense once you see the update, the entire map is new, have no completed all areas but it is still currently large enough to make up for the last one.

As you can see I spent the entire month making the entirely new tileset, I hope the level of detail and time spent comes across. currently many enemies are in the incorrect places but will be in their proper areas as their areas come in. There is now also room for new temple related enemies.

Due to an incredibly generous donation to my patreon I was able to finally purchase the animation software I wanted, this will help make many new enemies and animations. Especially for the boss which is lacking in phases.

Hey everybody! I can't believe how many people have recently joined, It's been quite amazing and I want to thank you all for supporting me. I hope everyone has been safe and well during the current situation.

This month I fixed a large amount of bugs and added quite a lot of new things, I ended up ticking off a lot of the todo list.

Hey everyone! Thank you for your continued support, I spent this month working on the biggest and most detailed pixel animations I've ever done to date. Introducing the new boss, there is still a lot to go, and this update has brought on a lot of new bugs, so if you find some please tell me, I spent most of the time working on the few new animations. I still have a few tweaks left to do to those animations but most of next update will be polishing a lot of what we have and finishing a few of the things introduced. Like sex scenes etc.
