a quick update before i'm away for a week

hey all. just wanted to say thank you so much for the kind words and support in regards to arc,regn (and in general). it really does mean a lot.

for the next week or so i'll be doing some recharging - i wouldn't expect a ton more music for a while in general - but after that i'll be putting together the album resources for remixing/sampling/etc, as well as wrapping up work on a handful of plugins and sample packs, which should all be available over the next couple months.

still alive and all that; been working on the new greenhouse album more or less all day every day. it has grown in ways i did not expect but am very happy with. not sure how much of it is left to be made, so i'm giving it a little room to breathe and we'll see what happens.

"3spaces2" delay/reverb vst3 plugin

i learned how to make reverbs and decided to redo 3spaces (an older patreon-only plugin) with my own reverb circuits rather than using stock stuff. it's still 3 mono delay/reverb lines with built in filters, drives, etc. everything can self-oscillate at high regen levels. have fun. a couple audio demos attached.

patreon only for now. also, vst3 64bit only. will work in most 64bit vst2 clients by renaming the .vst3 to .dll as usual.

CT-PFM gets a public release, finally

a route well-walked

was gonna use this for a thing but then i didn't. it's more or less several things i've done before but in the context of said thing that wasn't really relevant. what's really remarkable about this one is the IT module (also attached) is only 97.1kb and totally legacy compatible. got into a bit of a byte war with myself optimizing it and the last few kb to get it under 100 was pretty intense. i'm sure i could save a few more bytes but at this point i'm satisfied with it

general updates: time tripper, the rest, and life

hey there - hope you're all keeping well.

TIME TRIPPER:

this last week i finished up another map for time tripper circuit02. that means we're 5 major maps deep into the project, with a couple smaller ones also being complete. previously it would have been 6 major maps, but i'm probably going to be redoing one of them as i'm not at all happy with how it fits with the rest of the direction of the project. i'll likely be including it as a bonus anyways for those that want to play it.

currently in the pipeline are:

• 1 more medium-sized map
• 1-2 more small intermission maps
• 1 large map

i can see the medium and intermission maps coming together in a month or so total, though the large one may take much longer. we'll see what happens! i've been learning a lot of techniques that really accelerate the process and keep it fun.

as well, i've been putting time into bugfixes and refactoring as well, though i'm sure it will still launch with a bevvy of errors which i'll end up fixing over time. people always find novel ways to break things.

the soundtrack is just about complete - one or two more tracks to wrap, then just adjustments here and there. a couple tracks will likely go unused, but they'll naturally be on the soundtrack since i'm fond of them.

all that is to say that it's coming along extremely well and the end result will be an interesting DOOM mod for those into that kind of thing, an interesting album for those into that kind of thing, and both for those into both.

EVERYTHING ELSE:

my CT-PFM3 plugin has been available for patrons for quite some time now and still hasn't seen public release, mostly because i've been wrapped up in other work (greenhouse physicals, time tripper) and haven't been in the brain space to write a manual for the thing. reminder: you can GET IT HERE already if you haven't. it should be public soon-ish. in the mean time please continue to enjoy it!

the ITI instrument collection for openMPT has had a couple additions, i think, but i'm not actually certain. either way, i've attached the current folder to this post as a download.

i'll probably be doing some more merch over the next month or two but am currently deciding on what/how. i know i still need to do the HHSU CD, and i would like to, but the general process i was going to use would result in a fragile product that could easily break during shipping - and due to direct printing on the case, it would have been irreplaceable. so i'm continuing to explore ideas. it might just be best to continue with the current brand of recycled digipaks + obi strips, as they're very appealing and fun to design around.

two previously patron-only tracks, minus (HHSU 𓃚 return signal) and gh_BCST_INTPR are now up on the HALLEY LABS youtube for all to enjoy and share.

LIFE:

i am managing! increasingly, i don't feel like sharing too much of this is super important, but know that i am mostly well. it's the usual off and on illness and "body destroying itself for no real reason".

more than anything right now i just want to keep working on things. i am hoping to use my revived hyperfixation on DOOM to help push time tripper over the finish line... as always, i tend to focus on one major thing at a time and put all my energy into it, so i appreciate the patience while i work on something important to me. i hope it can bring joy to enough of you in some way as to make supporting me feel worthwhile. it's an ongoing concern that i am not providing the "right" thing, but!! i can only do what i can do, so i am learning to accept that more and more.

thank you so so much as always for giving me the space and time to create. i will continue to do it for as long as i can and i hope you will look forward to whatever is next. i'll do the same!

hi there, i've been working on time tripper circuit02 a lot over the past couple weeks  (and streaming it most days, usually for 7-8 hours a day @ https://www.twitch.tv/msx2plus). here's a new piece for it. it's very long, very dreary, very eerie, and towards the end quite loud.

there's an increasing amount of somewhat dynamic music in this project, so this isn't by any means the final soundtrack cut of this piece.

a funny idea for patron "shoutouts"

hey all;

if you're a viewer of my stream you may be familiar with my layout containing an AIM "buddy list" window in the background complete with rotating advertisements.

i thought it would be fun to open up submissions from $4+ patrons. images get displayed randomly and for about 10 seconds at a time. i'll leave the images in rotation until you ask me to take them down or until uhhh idk i change stream layouts, but i would like to keep them around for some time.

i would like to establish some ground rules:

• 120x60 pixels. GIF or PNG are fine, GIF can be animated.

• i will NOT edit your graphics for you. it has to be ready to go upon my receiving it.

• no gore, nothing too suggestive.

• no rapid flashing if it's a GIF.

• probably shouldn't just be a picture of your OC. be creative. have fun.

• can NOT contain a URL. this is a security risk and i won't be checking URLs constantly to make sure things are OK.

• don't use stuff by other artists in the image. make sure you have the rights for what you're using

• an exception to some of the above rules may be granted (see: submitting actual old AIM advertisements for me to use, referencing other stuff, etc)

i reserve the right to turn down any submissions.

i've attached a screenshot of my current stream layout as well as a bunch of the ads i currently have in rotation as examples.
