Slippery Floor Puzzles!

Here's something fun- a crystal cave dungeon with slippery floor puzzles! These kinds of puzzles are super fun to make (and fun to play too!) so I figured they'd be a good addition to the game!!

Development on Chapter 9 is still chugging along- it's in the homestretch now!! Sorry for the semi-sporadic updates! I don't typically like to overshare at the risk of sounding like I'm fishing for sympathy points, but I had some genuinely crushing life stuff that made me upend the way I was living earlier this month. But not to worry, things are better now, and the work on the new chapter is back to normal!!

Renee vs. Lilith Art!!

Look at this!! SeaBea did some super cool art to commemorate the Renee/Lilith Eats the Evoria Universe saga!! And I figured what better time to share this than before the next step in the aforementioned saga! It's almost like this is a movie poster!

This is an early access art piece done by SeaBea! These are only available for Platinum and Rainbow tier members, but it will be made available to the public on Deviantart in two weeks!

July Character Poll

It's time!! Renee vs. Lilith! You get to decide which girl gets to add another character from the Evoria Universe to their waistline!

Here's what's gone down so far:

LILITH HAS EATEN:

• Fiona McHale as punishment for not making her enough food

• Molly the Thief as a taunt to Renee

• Tristan the Thief as a taunt to Renee

• Archie the Thief as a final taunt to Renee

RENEE HAS EATEN:

• Mary the Fairy after showing up to her dinner too early

• The paperboy, just because he happened to be nearby

• Two of Don Linotti's bodyguards- they were in the way

• Don Linotti himself as revenge for Lilith eating the Thieves' Guild

Things are personal both ways!! Now that Lilith's still chubby with the weight of the Thieves' Guild and Renee has all the political power of Don Linotti jiggling on her butt, it really is anyone's game!

As usual, if you guys wanna, feel free to comment which Evoria character you think SHOULD be eaten next! Pretty much anyone is on the table now!!

At The Club

That's right!! This year's playable anniversary bonus scene takes place at the glamorous Club Fuchsia! Located in scenic Fluoritia, this place is the slimegirl capital of the world! And the party capital!!

And yes, you read that right! This is a playable bonus scene!! You can play it and explore around!! I wanted every Evoria gal to have some place in this one- pretty much everyone gets a chance to shine with a belly scene! There aren't too many secrets like last year's but there's a couple neat little extras! I hope you guys like it!!

Also, another character poll is heading your way tomorrow!! It's back to the Renee vs. Lilith saga... Who will win this time??

I know I posted a little about this before, but happy Evoriaversary!! It's still crazy to me this project has been popular enough to stick around this long. Here's hoping that doesn't stop anytime soon!!

The Lightningliner - Evoria Dev Commentary #26

Wowww a new dev commentary!! What a surprise!! This one features lots of rambling about Paper Mario and other inspirations for Evoria!

Also, get hyped, this month's bonus scene will be playable!! It'll come out sometime soon, but I also have another special development update coming in time for Evoria's 3rd anniversary!! It's still crazy to me that this game is already 3 years old...

Newspapers!

Wow, look at that, a new collectible!!

Now, scattered around the world, you'll find various sparkly newspaper stations- each one contains a different headline you can read, with special new art and all!! Plus, once you've found them, you can view each headline at New Pax's Newspaper Gallery (Formerly the printing press) at the bottom righthand corner of the city!

There are 10 in total to collect! Each headline will be different based on where you find the newspaper stand, so you'll have to do some exploring to find them all!

This was actually SeaBea's idea, and I think it works great in-game! I'm always down to add in more fun little things to find around the world haha.

New Fish!

There's gonna be 18 new fish to catch in Chapter 9!! (That's over half as much that were added in the 8.5 sidequest update!!)

I cannot explain it, but I love adding more little collectibles like this into the game. I've mentioned it before, but I love things like museums and encyclopedias in regular games that I play, so -of course- I wanted to add them into my game!

That's weird, though... I could've sworn there was supposed to be a person in this picture... Huh...

Chapter 6 Begins - Evoria Dev Commentary #25

Knock knock! Who's there? Evoria Dev commentary!! In this one, we finally start Chapter 6!! Plus I talk about the battle system and speculate on future projects!

It's not just a Rob Cantor song! Sliami's got some solid night life! You'll be able to see some familiar faces and some new ones too! And as is to be expected, LOTS of slimegirls!

Fun fact, this is officially the third time Naomi has been alone at a party over the course of the game! It's funny how often that ends up happening...

As progress Chapter 9 continues chugging along, I face my usual angel and devil on my shoulder- "Show the patreon people this segment!! It's really cool!!" "Nooo, don't show them!! It'd be much better as a surprise they experience when they play the game!!"

Welcome to the slimegirl capital of the world- Sliami! If the swamps weren't already gross enough, look at how messily these people live! On top of that, there's lots of billboards and posters advertising something... What could that be about?

Look like Renee is gonna take the next bite of the "Eats the Evoria Universe" saga!! Things are getting personal now, what's Lilith gonna think!? And will she ever get to see how big Renee's boobs got!? So many questions!!

The stakes are higher than ever!!! Once again, these bonus scenes are so fun to write, there's something a lot more satisfying about Renee and Lilith being cruel, dominant predators when they've both got skin in the game haha.

(April Fools) Evoria Voice Acting Trailer

Today I'm very excited to announce a new feature coming to Evoria- Voice acting! Every line in the game is voiced, featuring unique voices for each character! This has been something I've been working on for a bit, but it was fun working to create canon voices for all of the Evoria characters we all know and love!

Into the Swamps!

Look at that!! It's the first look at the new stuff in Chapter 9!! This one's gonna be a lot more like how Chapter 8 was, except this time, the adventure goes into the swamps of Fluoritia! As usual, I don't wanna spoil -too- much of what's to come, but now you guys have an idea of the chapter's general setting!

Well, now that it's out, it's time for another one of these posts! What did you guys think about the update? I know there's quite a lot of stuff here (And one especially big surprise that SeaBea and I have tried to keep a big secret haha) so feel free to talk about anything in the update you wanna! Even if there's stuff you thought could've been done better, feedback for the future is always appreciated!!

Now that this is out, we're really REALLY going to Chapter 9 now! That chapter also has a pretty big surprise in it, though maybe you'll expect it at this point...

Evoria Chapter 8.5 Sidequest Update!

Surprise!! It's out now!!

That's right!! The sidequest update is finally ready!! Now, this being a sidequest update, it doesn't progress the main story. However, there's still lots to do, with somewhere between 2-3 hours of content available!! To fully illustrate everything added and changed, here's something I plan on doing with each update from now on- Patch notes!

 SIX NEW SIDEQUESTS!

- Bea seems distressed... Talk to her at the New Pax Crossroads to find out why!

- The Book of Possibility has another story to tell... Visit the library in northwest New Pax to learn more!

- Don't you wanna take a break and have some pizza? Head to Little Elfocitta Pizza in west New Pax and try some!

- It looks like Wisp Village is hosting a storytelling session. Check out the library in Glumberwood to attend!

- Seems GorjaCorp has a new job opening... Head to the skyscraper in northwest New Pax and check it out!

- And after finishing 5 sidequests, talk to Archie in the Adventurer's Guild to start a special extra-long sidequest!

 OVER 60 NEW PIECES OF SCENE ART

- As per the usual, SeaBea went craaazy for this update!! There's so much new art!!!

 OTHER FUN STUFF!

- Evoria's 2025 Q&A has been organized in the New Pax Convention Center (Formerly the Opera House!) Wanna hear your previously asked questions answered by the Evoria characters? That's the place to be!

- The salon in northeast New Pax has opened, with the power to use iridescent shards you've collected from the main story to upgrade your magic skills!

- A total of 32 all-new fish to catch! Mitzi can fish in New Pax and the whole party can fish in Wisp Village!

- At the Adventurer's Guild, Tristan offers a new item for completing 9 sidequests and Molly offers a new move for completing 7 sidequests!

- More furniture is available to buy for your house! A bed for Mitzi at the New Pax Item Shop, a Naomi doll from Wisp Village, and a special vase from a secret new area!

- New museum exhibits for scenes from Chapter 8 and for the new sidequests!

- At the theater, you can now watch Chapter 8's animation plus an all new animation from one of the sidequests!

- And of course, 16 new entries in the Adventurer's Database! (Plus 32 more entries for the aforementioned new fish!)

 SMALLER CHANGES!

- Moving with the mouse has returned! You can click a spot and your party will go there!

- Enemies now have a little shadow behind them in battles. It makes the battles look a little nicer!

- Any time you enter a new town/important area, its name pops up on the screen!

 TWEAKS/BALANCING!

- Renee's Blasting Frenzy attack now has an easier action command, but costs slightly more MP

- Mitzi's scan move lowers defenses for 5 turns instead of 3 and costs less SP.

- Naomi's Restore spell and Renee's Magic Barrier spell no longer require action commands to complete

- Cherry has a higher evasion rate, making her less likely to be hit by enemies.

- Naomi and Mitzi have slightly higher evasion rate, while Renee has a slightly higher critical hit rate.

- Cherry's Woeful Melody now weakens an enemy's attack rather than defense. It also costs less MP.

- The "Evoria" subsection of quests in the Quest Log has been cut, just to make things simpler.

- Very very small dialogue changes to Lilith's testimony in the Chapter 7 trial and the Chapter 8 "Mitzi Breakdown" scenes. Just stuff to help pacing and make characters actions feel more natural.

- The Major General now has a custom text typer sound and his sprite has been adjusted to better match his portrait art.

- Flik's fell down a set of stairs

So yeah, there's a lot to do!! Hopefully it'll be enough to keep you guys busy until Chapter 9!

Enemy Shadows

With the sidequest update nearing completion, it's time for everyone's favorite kind of update! Something really simple that most people won't notice, but FP thinks is cool and kinda makes the game better!

I've added a little drop shadow to all the enemies in the game! It helps them stand out a little more and makes battles seem more cohesive, visually. There's a more direct comparison with the Blank Naomi- the left side has the new shadow and the right doesn't! It's a small change, but I think it looks nice!

Be on the lookout, as the sidequest update approaches closer and closer every day... But that's all for now!

Jealous of Renee's belching skills, Naomi concocts an unusual plan...

It's another bonus scene!!! This one's about Naomi, isn't that great? It's actually been quite a bit since she's had a bonus scene so this'll be a welcome addition! This one's more stuffing focused (and burp focused) so that's fun too! I hope you guys like it!!

More Museum!

Wow, look at that!! The museum now has exhibits for scenes from Chapter 8 AND the new sidequests being added in the update! Now you can conveniently rewatch all your favorite Chapter 8 moments! This addition's kinda a gimme, but it's still good to have! There's more to come, so stay tuned!!

The Magic Salon!

Here's another fun little update coming to the game- Now in New Pax, there's a salon that can permanently upgrade your magic skills! Remember the iridescent shards you've collected during the story of Chapter 8? Well, here's where you can use them!! Not every spell is upgradeable, but most of them are!! Hopefully this can help you have stronger skills for battles!

The sidequest update is really coming together now!! I'll keep you guys posted as it continues to progress!!

Ooooh, look at that! Go on a retro adventure with the Evoria gals in a pixelated world in... EvoriaQuest! Only on the Solar Plexus Virtual Command Center!

This was a really fun sidequest to conceptualize and SeaBea has done some great N64/PS1-style art of the main party!! I hope you guys enjoy it, I love doing homages to things in Evoria and this is 100% a belly-themed love letter to NES-era RPGs!
